  • Thanks Arne!

    Wasn't to be.

Certain things did our head in - some of the team selections, questions about the press, questions about the set-up, your apparent disdain for Chieda and Endo and some odd comments in post-match pressers. I'll happily concede I wanted a change, as did most.

However, every Red wanted a 20th League title and you played your part. So many Reds will be grateful for that even though season two fell apart against the backdrop of a change of direction with the transfer market and with a tragic death to a member of the playing staff. Right up until February or March of 24/25 it felt like every second half was an improvement and every substitution looked clever.

Nobody will be remembering 25/26 fondly and all will know that a change had to happen, but in time I hope the appreciation for 24/25 will grow a bit and the "human being" aspect will grow to a point where you get the odd chant or pint on holiday rather than the vitriolic language that has appeared too many times during the latter stages of your tenure.

Thanks Arne - not quite the right person for this club, but we matched the 20 of the lot down the road under your watch and you can hold your unnaturally shiny head high about that.

Fingers crossed our future will pick up again under someone else and best of luck in your future endeavours - unless it's against us and especially if it means you're managing a side that knocks a Man City or Chelsea out of the Champion's League some time.

Good post - and yes he did his best within the setup. A setup imo unworkable for anyone

      Good post Sid
I personally have been harsh on him with some things I've said. Not nice I know but all in the frustration of what was happening to LFC.
I genuinely wish him the best and future success. It just wasn't to be like you say.

Wish him the best but did it to himself.
Had his way of playing and put that ahead of players in there right positions and changing it when not working.
Evident that players had an issue and we became predictable and easy to play against, lost the fear factor.

Naah that was Jurgen Klopp - but Slot was at least in situ

Wish him the best. Think he was a bit out of his depth. Very glad he got us number 20.

Yep, glad he decided not to change anything or put his stamp on things for a year, so we had a virtually identical season to Jurgen’s last (same goals for, same against, just won one more than we had drawn the previous season) while everyone else fell away.

                  Wish him well.

I was watching Alex on youtube. he claimed Slot never really got the whole thing regarding our great club.
I guess with him being kind of being. half here and half there (his family was in the Netherlands) He didn't really get into the whole ethos of the LFC.
If it's Iraola who does take over, I hope the club gives him a 4 year contract and give him time to rebuild.

Anyhow I will always remember Slot for getting us number 20. So he should be remembered kindly and not be harshly attacked. For his second season , Though that was dire

Well said mate. Arne couldn't cut it but no hard feelings. He won us a title & dealt with the Dogo tragedy with dignity. Hope he has a good career elsewhere in a league hes suited to 👍
