I don't think Rio can sign a other contract until he is 18. So hopefully the club have it all ready to go as a nice birthday present and we tie him down long term.

Much depends on the manager... or should I say.... Mánayer (Manáćherr) no..

Lots of talk about MacAllister & Gakpo looking elsewhere and being available for the right fee.
Both should move on, neither will thrive in Iraola’s system

Jimmy Summerville from West ham would be a good and reasonably priced replacement for Gakpo.

If he was banging goals in I'm sure he'd make the crowd feel mighty real.....

Anno, anno. It's an awful one.

We still have a few players who for quite a while have been sub par, surplus to requirements, or are over the hill. They are reluctant to leave the club. They either just never can say goodbye, or after our recent terrible season there's still a bit of a cloud over them and us. They'd rather not leave us that way.

It might remind the support too much of that small Danish club knocking us out of Europe in the 90s.

Far too many seem to be wanting out. We could be in serious trouble. If we lose Rio to Bayern, it'll be a signpost for others about ambition I think.
It's all very well saying get rid of Gakpo and Macallister, but we do actually need 14 or 15 genuine first teamers, not 8 or 9. And how long would Szoboslai stay then???
Iraola's already a relative unknown in terms of player draw and Salah's gone too. The future isn't bright.

The clouds haven't completely passed, but things look a bit brighter than they did a couple of weeks ago.

Surely Rio was approached by Bayern because they could see he was frustrated at continually being on the bench. But as soon as Slot was gone, the 'talks' collapsed.

I.....don't see it, at the moment.

We have good players here and there will be a fresh voice in Iraola, plus we should be able to bolster the squad (even if it's considerably less financial might than last Summer) with us having Champion's League football.

If anyone genuinely wants out, then off they go - Europe is brimming with talented athletes who would want the chance to make it here.

I think it will be more like Benitez-time than Klopp-time for a season or two (Champion's League finishes, reasonable European runs, but maybe no silverware) but I don't see a return to the 09/10 to 15/16 period which was largely lifeless apart from a mad title run in 13/14 and that League Cup win over Cardiff in 11/12 with the following line-up -

                          P Reina
                          G Johnson
                          M Skrtel
                          D Agger
                          J Enrique
                          J Henderson
                          S Gerrard (c)
                          C Adam
                          S Downing
                          L Suárez
                          A Carroll

                          Substitutes

                          A Doni
                          M Rodriguez
                          D Kuyt
                          J Spearing
                          J Carragher
                          M Kelly
                          Bellamy

We're a bit imbalanced just now and need work in a couple of areas, but the squad isn't complete pish.

Better coaching can hopefully see us cut the 53 League goals conceded down to 40-45 conceded and an addition or two can hopefully see the 63 League goals scored creep up to 70-75 scored - this should be a decent building block and we can go from there.

                            Er ….

Spurs supposedly rumoured to be willing to offer €85m (£73m) for Cody Gakpo.

Can we think about…. Yes, yes reluctantly we will have to let our star player go in they case.

It has been revealed by Spanish outlet El Desmarque, Konate was given a £400k a week four year deal and a £17m signing on fee.

I’d have gone myself to be fair …
