He looks the likely candidate. What's peoples opinions? His tactics sound good on paper but as much as I will back him 100% I still worry. Could be a genius appointment or it could be a Thomas Frank at spurs appointment. Just pray its the former & we really need to finish above Chelsea thats a fact

Iraola is the bookies favourite and then it's Sebastian Hoeness and Pierre Sage.
That's where we are. No mention of Eddie Howe. We missed out on Amorim to get Slot and we've just missed out on de Zerbi and Alonso. Who knows?
He's got premier league experience and he seems to actually develop young players, which is something we will need to do unless there's a half billion quid war chest knocking about.

Agree with KC. There are concerns and I guess most will feel the same.
Without sounding disrespectful to any of those mentioned they're not top bracket managers/coaches or whatever the moniker is.
I don't think it's an accident that we are not linked with the top table guys. After Klopp it's obvious and has been reported plenty that FSG are afraid of appointing someone who would yield power with the fans. Allegedly the reason Alonso wasn't approached.
That's certainly something to be concerned with but either way we back whoever comes in and we hopefully don't end up going down the Utd road of a merry-go-round in the next few seasons. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

Who are actually the top managers at the moment? I don't think there are that many
Klopp
Pep
Enrique
Simeone
Conte
Ancellotti
Mourinho
Emery
Klopp has retired, no chance of Pep, Simeone and Conte are too defensive and Jose and Dopn Carlo are approaching the twilight of their careers.
To me it leaves Enrique and Emery as the only two really that would be suitable and I can't see Enrique leaving any time soon.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

If the players buy into Ireloa's way of playing then we'll be back in business. They should, after half of them moaned about not running hard enough and complaining about declining standards.
By the sounds of things Ireloa runs a pretty stern ship, in a similar mould to Klopp, Pep and Conte - everyone runs, no one shirks.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

Nagalsman,Inzaghi maybe? But in that list there id imagine all of them insist on more control than they'd be allowed at LFC right now. That's why we're not linked with any of them.Originally posted by jozza800 View PostWho are actually the top managers at the moment? I don't think there are that many

I do wonder of they've even sounded out any of them? The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

A pal of mine said that Bournemouth were outran in 8 of the last 9 games of the season, unbeaten in the last 15 or so I think.
Bring outran maybe isn't so much of an issue of you have cutting edge up front and can stop goals going in. Work smarter not harder as Frank Spencer once said. The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

One thing this guy is - is 100%... He looks extremely competent and has proved that even losing his best players is not an excuse. This is what we need.
Someone who is more concerned with his son/daughters GCSE results (Dutch equivalent) isn't going to cut the mustard. And it shows what rank amateurs we have in H'edwards. One thing I would credit F$G for is landing Klopp. This was surely their crowning glory. I realise that much of that was down to luck and timing - Ulla for not wanting Manchester and the fact that Klopp fits this club like a glove... but they landed him...and thank the lord they did.
I can see a Rafa Benitez potential in this fella and that allied to some proper backing... which I hope he gets...could take us places again.

Typically if you possess the ball more, you run less.
There are differences in running styles/data, that also separate clubs like LFC & Cituae who usually dominate possession.
Cituae tend to run more distance than LFC.
LFC does slightly more high intensity sprints per game.
Whereas cituae to a little more running just below the high intensity grade.
Essentially citaue players run a couple of hundred metres more than LFC players per game.
LFC players do about 1 extra high intensity sprint per game than Cituae players.
Essentially LFC are a more aggressive pressing side than Cituae, sprint more and do less distance.
Cituae less aggressive, cover more distance and do slightly less high end sprints per game.

Really?Originally posted by jozza800 View PostOne thing for certain is that Ireloa (or whoever) won't be coming in and thinking "I don't need to do much here, it jus needs a bit of a tweak..."!
I think its already been a big lift for the players getting rid of slot and they will be excited for the new season.
I did think a CB,DM and 2 wide attackers would do but rumours that bradley is worse than first though and alisson pushing to leave could mean adding a keeper and rightback.

I meant in terms of system. I think (and hope) we'll see a big difference between how we've played this season and how we'll set up for next season.
Plater wise, we do need to do a fair amount of business. Minimum of 2 wide players, a replacement for Mac, and Konate and maybe a loan for a striker that can cover whilst Ekitike is recovering.
The Norn Ireland manager said last week that Bradley is making good progress.
If it is Iraola, then I am excited for what he will do with the fullbacks. Both fullbacks at Bournemouth are really agressive and get forward a lot. Hopefully we'll see more of what Kerkez was about in his season at B'mouth and I can see Frimpong being alowed to bomb forward a lot more like Jimenez.
The biggest difference will hopefully be in midfield. B'mouth often played 4231 or 442, with Kroupi sometimes operating as a 10 or as a tradiditonal centre forward. Difference bertween this line up and Slot's is that the midfielders we agressive but responsibly so. Scott and Adams did a decent job of protecting the centre halves.
I dont think the defensive line will be quite as high as Slot's, since Senesi and some of his partners aren't speed merchents.
My concern is Isak. I'm not sure how he'll cope with what will be demanded of him in terms of pressing. Evanilson, whilst nowhere near as good a forward as Isak, is an absolute wasp.Something, Something, Something, Dark Side

I guess we will see far more use of the youth - thank god.... much higher intensity in the press and lot's and lot's of rotation.
Far more risk for reward taken.
Isak is going to have to come out of his shell at a club that demands from strikers... not sure he has the personality - but last season wasn't the best to judge from. We live in hope.
This doesn't sound too bad
