Jürgen Klopp claimed defeat in the Champions League final should not detract from Liverpool’s “special season” but rued their failure to beat Thiabut Courtois in the 1-0 loss to Real Madrid.
The oalkeeper produced an outstanding display to deny Liverpool, and Mohamed Salah in particular, as Liverpool’s dreams of a seventh European crown and cup treble this season vanished in Paris. But Klopp believes his side should have done better in front of goal.
