Joe Gomez continues to make encouraging progress with his recovery from a knee injury but remains 'far away from being back', according to Jürgen Klopp.
The centre-half has been sidelined for Liverpool since November after requiring surgery on the issue he suffered when away on international duty with England.*
While Klopp will be 'surprised' if Gomez does manage to return to action in 2020-21, he did provide a positive update on the No.12.
The Reds boss told reporters: "Joe Gomez is actually in a pretty good place, but far away from being back.*
"He walks around, looks completely normal, is not yet out on the pitch and running or even out of the gym. It's just a really tough injury as well.*
"Will he be available this season? When does the season end? May? It will be close at least, I would say.*
"I don't expect, so I would be positively surprised if he would be back this season, to be honest."
