  • Trans in women's toilets

Basically should anybody trans be allowed in women's toilets?I ask because I kicked off last year at a gig. I say kicked off but basically I asked a trans why he's using the toilet as my missus. He obviously got a total attitude said its not my business. Is it not my business to ask why a man in a dress is following my missus to a womans toilet?

I wouldn't be happy seeing any Trans using women's toilets. The whole gender situation has gone absolutely nuts.
    Too much diversity IMO.
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

Go to any large event and women will use the gents with a "its ok lads not looking" and yet a man using womens toilet would be arrested.

Semi-related, but there was a Skatepark I used to go to back in the early 2010s here that didn't have male or female toilets - it was just a neutral space with about 8 cubicles and no male wall urinals.

Never had a problem. Everyone was there to piss, shit or wash their hands of any grime/blood they'd accumulated from their session, irrespective of what was between their legs.

The "weirdest" encounter, if you could call it that, was coming out of a cubicle having had a piss to there being 5 lasses taking a group selfie in the mirror. They clearly hadn't realised I was there, they looked a bit sheepish (mixed gender bathrooms not a common experience for most here in NI) and I broke the tension my shouting "selfies biiiiiiitch" in a somewhat camp voice.

The 5 of them burst out laughing and I went back into the main Skatepark and they presumably went back to taking selfies. Everyone was fine. I do think mixed bathrooms might solve an issue, but Skatepark-attending folk tend to be pretty alt/chill/open anyway as a.....for want of a better word...."genre" of people, so perhaps that would fly in that space in a way that it wouldn't elsewhere.

As for trans folk, there's a few of them in the ecology community locally which is generally a very, shall we say, "inclusive" space - there's a person who goes by "Rob" who will use the male bathroom. Female-to-male transition person. I never got the impression that "Rob" wanted to do anything in the bathroom other than pee or poo and I imagine this is the case for 99% of trans folks.

If I had a choice of sharing a bathroom space with some trans people or sharing it with some of the largely white, largely male, largely heterosexual hooded shit-rags that have been tearing Northern Ireland apart in recent weeks I'd probably choose the trans folks - despite being a white, male, heterosexual lad myself.
