It's not just cars either terrified of getting a puncture in the middle of nowhere

Oh i like the look of that, I have red/orange vodoo myself fancy getting something more suitable for the roads, as I think after the initial fear I'd enjoy it and use it more, I use mountain bike down canal near me and cannock chase sometimes, but it's a bit of a ridge just to get there (chase)

      • Could always save up and buy one of those "smart bikes" I suppose then I don't have to leave the house & use Zwift

You can get tyres that are pretty much puncture-proof. I think marathonplus is one such brand but they are a bit of a trade-off v performance You can also get a spray can that repairs a puncture by spraying contents into the valve!

            Pedal bike or motorbike?
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

Blaenavon to Pontypool might be slightly better as it's "downhill" slightly.
The path actually starts near Brynmawr. Most of the route is a former railway line btw.
Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway company are planning to reinstate more of the railway - some has already been reinstated!

Lol yeah that's definitely the 'reward' for the slightly uphill ride North up to Blaenavon.....The duck pond in Blaenavon is a nice resting area before the downhill back to Ponty....Took my 2 youngest nephew's(sister's kids) up and back last year...A guy my age group went flying past us on the way back down I said to him 'In a rush eh mate?'..He goes 'Yeah, got a stack of beer in me fridge mun!'...
