Wheres the educating in terms of family values and the things you talk of like growing their own food? Its all geated towards the whole birth, school, work, marraige, mortgage, retirement, dea th cycle. This country is hung up on totally. Theres more to life than owning a home.
Primary schools are pretty decent but overall imo society has made massive mistakes in the last half century. Naturally I blame the left foremost as I think they are an inherently failed ideology, much like the eu. Might do a highly biased thread on left v right v centre and see how it goes.
Supra-nationalists trying to make supra-humans and we know how that supra-shit ends.

After 7th cycle you get 18 days off. Rubbish for weekends though. Dont get many where youre off fri, sat, sunday.
Sounds crap doing 2 days and 2 nights. I get thrown out swapping regularly between the 2.

I find the discussions around family and so on really interesting.
Here's my take, from an old'un - random thoughts I'm afraid.

Years ago, perhaps pre-war as much as anything, parents would have anything from two to seven kids. Lack or shortage of contraception, anything available was financially out of reach.
Back in those days, one parent, only, was usually in (full-time) work. Families would live from hand to mouth. People grew their own food (vegetables). There were no benefits available.
With a shortage of cars/other transport, families generally remained in a smaller geographical area. This meant family could all support each other.

The whole family dynamic has changed, IMO, because of the availability of transport.
Today, with so many cars on the road, families can be spread all around the UK or even abroad. the UK has become a benefits society. some families have more and more kids in order to obtain the benefits available.
In the past twenty to thirty years, maybe more, multiple generations of families have never worked, in some cases it's economically not viable for them to do so.
The employment market has changed. Post-war the UK had a huge amount of mining, shipbuilding, steel production.
What does the UK have today that can employ thousands of people?
There's too much confusion, I can't get no relief

I dont mind it. I like nights and dont like the regular 9-5 type hours plus being a single parent its good to have time off for school runs etc and I dont have to rely on my folks too much whereas my kids mum relys on her parents doing school runs due to her working hours.
The defining moments in our lives are never planned.

A Welsh mate applied for a postal vote for the by-election next week, he should have got it by Friday but it didn't arrive so he phoned them and they said they'd pop another in the post to him on Monday, using the same royal mail that didn't work the first time? "Unfortunately, yes" they said.

Another mate went to Rhyl by train this week but the rails buckled in the heat so the train was cancelled and they all had to pile into a taxi.

                Nothing works in this country.

My girlfriend was complaining of a constant two tone low frequency noise, she said it sounded electronic, wondered if it was from a new phone mast, 5G or device from some evil corporation. Nobody else can hear it but her. I suggested she wear a tin foil hat. She'd never heard that term before and she made one and says it works. So there.

Life likes to kick some people while they are down, whilst with certain others it likes to repeatedly kick them till they are dead and then kick them some more just to make sure.

If the universe has a plan for me, can it please hurry the fudge up and just finish me off!

I had to go to a 'medical' appointment today. As a result of massive anxiety and not having slept due to this anxiety and various medical conditions including an infection I developed a couple of days ago, I left my phone in the taxi.

Like I said, some people are repeatedly kicked when they are down, when they are nearly dead, and even in some cases when they actually are dead, both actually and metaphorically.

                                Why? Why? Why? Why? Why?
