Mo Salah, best in the world?

    Thoughts ?

How this man has got even better is beyond me, he's carrying us to the title (well not completely but a massive part of it)

At this point in time absolutely. There's nobody in better form.
We all know it'll be a travesty when he doesn't win the Balon' dor.

I can't remember who said it - it may have been Curtis Jones actually, was a YouTube video I had watched - but they were comparing Hazard and Salah.

The comment made was that Hazard was a "better footballer" in terms of the silky skills and being aesthetically pleasing with their footwork, whereas Salah was a "knife" - just brutally effective. Receive ball, cut through space, score.

Potentially does Salah a disservice somewhat, but I didn't find it the worst description.

I mentioned in the match thread that there are still plenty of people that think Hazard was better than Salah currently is.

A lot of people really appreciate what a pal of mine calls "fluff" - what he refers to is silky skills that don't necessarily improve the chance of a goal on most occasions.

He would call someone like Saint-Maximin a "fluff" player - or someone like Doku who can skin someone inside out but the goal/assist doesn't follow, rendering it pointless from the cold, clinical perspective of winning a match. I'm sure some would file Diaz under this category, rightly or wrongly.

He's always preferred someone who is very good at one particular thing. He absolutely loved Robben because you'd know what he would do (cut inside, curled shot towards a corner with left instep) but defenders still struggled to stop it.

    Put it like this…

Envisage him at Real or Barca with Iniesta, Xavi & Busquets behind him…. How many goals and assists is he making…?

The geezer is massively underrated and always has been. we are all guilty of it - myself included. Were he from Brazil, Argentina, Italy, Portugal, Spain, France.. or even here… There would be no debate.

I just keep imaging a clinical striker instead of Nunez

Or a season where jota is fully fit and firing and not stop starting all the time, (Yeah dream on daydreamer)

He's already on course to break the "involved in goals or scored" w/e it is record

I thought exactly the same a few days ago. European or South American no doubt he's rated higher.
Controversial statement but I think some of it is to do with him being a Muslim too.

    Just to add.....
It's crazy that there's even a debate over a new contract. He's like Ronaldo in the way that he totally looks after himself. I genuinely don't see his performance dropping off at all in the next couple of years.
