November 28th - January 2nd sees us play ten matches in about 4 and a half weeks.
Will be interesting to see where we are after that.

Looking at some stats on thiago for the number of games played during different seasons and it doesn't read well. He averaged less than 20 league games a season. So 50% let's say. I don't know if that was due to injury or just not getting picked. But it's a bit of a concern looking at what is happening with him currently.
It's down to injury. Think I Steveo and I discussed it when he was about to sign and I looked up the stats on transfermarkt.de. He is definitely injury prone.
Etiam si omnes, ego non
We'll have known this. Thiago has always been susceptible to injury.
But when he plays he puts in performances that set him apart from most Midfielders on the Planet.
Given that we had Henderson, Fabinho, Ox, Keita, Wijnaldum, Jones, Milner, Shaqiri and Minamino on the books (not all specialist midfielders, but all can play there, even if it is "at a push" for some) the Club probably felt we could get away with that. We've been unlucky however with the percentage of the midfield that has been missing simultaneously.
To compare we have Firmino, Jota, Salah, Mane, Origi and Minamino all available in the attacking side of things. Shaqiri out for a bit.
With luck Thiago's contributions will help us unlock a few stubborn defences over the course of the season. If he turns 3 draws into wins through good performances he buys us 6 points - that can be massive - the difference between 78 points and 84 points could be 2, maybe even 3 positions in the Table, so it was a risk worth taking.
That's a calculated risk considering we already had kieta and ox in midfield that were injury prone. He is getting older too so his recovery could be slower.
I was just a bit surprised when I saw the stats. And maybe it's why he is slow to come back. Could be a mentality thing in the player or his body just isn't up to playing a lot of games. Not good this season considering how fast the games will come.
If you're not sure what to do with the ball, just put it in the net, and we'll talk about the other options later... Bob Paisley.
Klopp has said that Van Dijk's knee doesn't look how a knee should, but is okay considering the injury he had.
Thiago he said has been training from time to time but needs a few weeks, though wasn't specific about a date.
Trent, Ox, Keita and Shaqiri all sound like they'll be available relatively quickly.
Am out dog-walking but can get the quotes later.
