Enjoyed the result but the game was a dull affair for 75 minutes. Grealish made a small difference and he certainly unnerves defences. I was most impressed with Maguire - never rated him - but he was very solid and brought the ball out of the back effectively. Saka was a joy for about 8 minutes and then faded and then it became two teams just stalemated. If that was Southgate's tactic - and I think it was - he succeeded. Does it make me want to watch that type of football? No. But in fairness, no one will remember any of this if he wins the competition. However, if he keeps the handbrake on, and England go out before the final, he will deservedly get bricks and bats thrown at him.
