Not alone there though, Mané was absolutely world class for us for years.

Diaz surely the Mane replacement, Núñez to be the Firmino replacement in time?

Mane was absolutely brilliant. That said, when a player departs, we'll always remember them at their peak. I always think of 07/08 and 08/09 Torres for example, rather than the declining version.

Took a while for Sadio to settle in.
What was he when he arrived? RW CF or LW ? Did he miss sitters?

Nunez is never going to make it at Liverpool, not good enough technically or in terms of game intelligence. He looks all over the place in matches and despite having some appealing physical attributes its always going to play out like a busted flush due to his profligacy.

A very important one against Everton to be fair to him.

Just on the subject of comparisons, I wish people (the media, Twitterati, not here) would stop comparing Núñez and Haaland.

Haaland is a terrifyingly consistent finisher. Not sure he does an awful lot else mind - occupies centre-backs I suppose - and to be fair I don't watch that lot as I see little point.

Núñez on the other hand is definitely going to have good games that he won't score in. Also good games that he WILL score in.
    This ^
I know one thing, it's a marvelous sight to see him in full flow, out pacing defenders to reach a long pass or hopeful punted ball.
    Getting there.

Big shout that. Time will tell.

We'd all agree Mane had an excellent time at Liverpool, yes?

In Mane's first Premier League season with us he played 27 League games.

    - Scored 13 goals.
    - 57 shots, 24 on target.
    - 42% shooting accuracy.
    - 5 assists.

Núñez has a smaller sample size but to date has played 10 League games.

    - Scored 5 goals.
    - 39 shots, 17 on target.
    - 44% shooting accuracy.
    - 2 assists.

Mane joined Liverpool at 24 (correct me if I'm wrong)!whereas Núñez is 23. Mane also came from a Premier League side in Southampton, so it could be argued that he would have an easier time adjusting to the pace and physicality of the League. Does Darwin need to do better with his chances in that match? Absolutely. Does he do stellar work for the second goal? Yes.

    Give him time.

As I said before, Theres no in-between with Darwin. He's either getting compared with Andy Carroll or Sadio Mane 🤣🤣

    Exactly.
    An Andy with pace.
