I won't be at all surprised to see us gazumped on Lavia. We've made a baboons arse of the whole thing. Having two bids knocked back will just see Saints thinking we're taking the piss and who can blame them because that's exactly what LFC have done. There's a price and despite what we or the club value him at it's different to Saints valuation, we've gone significantly lower twice. It's embarrassing. They make the club look embarrassing the way the go about things

What we need is for clubs to ask for double what they will settle for and FSG will actually offer what is required to get the player.
Liverpool have reportedly tabled a €25m (Ł21m) offer to Celta Vigo for Gabri Veiga.
According to Deportes Cope Galicia via Estadio Deportivo, the Reds move would see the Spain U21 talent remain in Vigo until the end of the season.
It's been claimed that Celta, who are managed by Rafa Benitez, are looking for a fee in the region of €40m for their star.
Another thing about the above is it suggests we would be spending Ł21m of an already tight budget on next season.
Absolutely ridiculous when we are desperate to bring in at least two more for this season.

More the fact they are offering money for a player who we wouldn’t see this season, while by Klopp’s own admission, we are operating on a strict budget.

Obviously everyone in life wants things as cheap as possible but sometimes it requires paying up. For 50m we could be getting better there's no doubt about that.

We were left short last year in midfield and it cost us.
We are currently short in midfield and cb. If we only get 1 midfielder in we will still be short in midfield and cb. It will cost us again.
I remember the journos (Pearce one of em) tweeting klopp would be given a 250mil kitty this summer. This was in January when the talk was we were waiting for Bellingham. All looks bollix now. Wait until the seasons starts the rumours will begin again, klopp to be given 1billion in January to sort out the positions not sorted during the summer.
