Hey that wouldn't surprise me either, but this Todd Boelly guy likes to splash the cash.

In the same article it mentions the reasons we won't get Lavia and again it's the upfront payment FSG want to spread it over an extended period.

They're an absolute embarrassment and they will get absolute pelters if he ends up going there.
They already are a laughing stock but this will be an absolute tour de force even by their standards.

Says on Sky that Southampton are set to reject Chelsea's bid. Deal agreed between LFC and them? Sounds likely.

Not at all surprised - Mac Allister was a release clause so that will have been paid up front and we apparently (???) paid the Szoboszlai fee up front as well. If we added £50m up front onto that £95m up front we'd have dropped £145m in a single window when we don't have Champion's League football, which isn't how we typically do things as you always want wiggle-room for the future - ideally a £60m buy for example is 5 instalments of £12m over a 5-year period - means that when you DO have to pay a release clause the money is more readily available.

I don't think anyone is surprised Sid, after all this has been the modus operandi during their time as owners. Are you not enraged though? With all money they have already added to their asset, do you not think it's outrageous that they continue with this frugal approach?

He’s an advocate of living within your means.

Lives in a small house or 10… Has a nice $38,000,000 one going spare in Nuntucket

Doesn’t do Ferries either but prefers pootling around on this. All from Soybean farming - apparently …

This thing about Latvia is a big embarrassing to out club. How on hell we have some fans that still back FSG approach?? OK we get some titles under FSG rein but we could have won much more if they support (money) our coach on transfer windows. I'm tired about this novel about Latvia, if we don't value him at price Southampton are asking move in to another one, simple.
Embarrassing and no excuses for that.
Oh and we haven't any DM 1 day BEFORE Premier League starts
