Between Szobo and Nunez 10 shots only 1 on target. Szobo playing midfield zero tackles and fewest passes completed until he was subbed. He just isn’t playing well at all. Nunez is Nunez, feast or famine and not a finisher as we have all seen. Add Mo’s wastefulness and we don’t score against big teams enough. Used to be the minnows gave us the trouble and we could rise to beat the big names. Weird year.

Yeah, but at least the Spurs game was an actual legitimate and undisputed goal that wasn't called by the ref. The others could have just been missed pens.

(I know ultimately we lose because we don't score in other games, but in the future, this will be the talking point that will not only affect us if we get second, but also any team that wins on GD or by a point with lesser GD. Will Arsenal want to be beholden to Spurs? Will they love being called Champions with a Star in the same way that those ridiculous people do when we won during COVID?)

Hopefully Spurs can do us a favour to even things out...

Yeah who knows what Trent will be like when he comes back. But Robbo is past his prime no doubt and needs someone better than Tsimikas competing with him to start

If you think Robbo looked awful today coming back from injury, wait till you see the off-form Trent back, and playing in defense with his signature characteristic laziness, not tracking back and ball-watching.
I’d be hoping that he wouldn’t be playing full back. Our threat down the right has gone since he’s been out. Bradley started amazingly and is the much better defender and better choice in that position but we are missing taa passing and delivery. Pity he’s so lax defensively.

Mo is not a 30 goal a season winger anymore.
Mo had that astronomical debut season. But he played with a selfless maestro who sucked defenders in and allowed space in behind. He had Sadio who was a bullet. Who could beat a man could score thunderbolts with both pegs, so you didn't know who to defend. Geggenpress and the age of our tram meant we suffocated teams high up and we had the fear factor. Salah even when he scored those goals go watch all his games and all his goal see how many pure hits. Salah numbers are irreplaceable but he a aging players is not. If he scores 5 penalties this season that will be 5 goals extra for Nunez etc so Nunez would then ve on like 16 or 18 goals. You don't need one player to score 30 goals. You need 1 to score 20 and then the rest to score the other 60 plus in the league.

Salah is a premier league legend, liverpool legend. But I can send you my address to cone beat me up Salah is not a clinical finisher. Our system and his team mates helped make him great.

Liverpool had 90 (yes, ninety) shots across 3 games against United and failed to win any of them. Shocking.

His biggest strength has always been movment and timing of runs and arriving in the right place. Seeing less of it now. Agree he’s not technically that great a striker of the football. His dribbling is basic enough. Great first touch though.

Is it a weak or a strong league? Hard to know.
We did lose to them recently in the cup. We've lost a winning position 3 times now in our last 2 games and a draw earlier in the league at Anfield.
I fear using a metaphor for being banned off the forum.

0.71 XG produced their 2 goals
    Defensively minus 1.29

3.6 XG produced our 2 goals
    Offensively minus 1.6

Today we were as bad in gifting them goals as we were at missing our own.
4 points dropped v that shower of shite.

We need arsenal to drop points now and win our respective game, giving us a 2 point swing.
So a loss or a draw makes little difference.
It's unlikely goal difference comes into it between us and arsenal. They're playing more steadily than us at present.

If its not us, I do hope it's arsenal over city.

I suppose they make up the .000000001%. What I saw was a composed young man who made a mistake. I'm okay with that. Gerrard one of the greatest players to ever play. Played a blind back pass vs France in the Euros that Henry latched on to to. If a absolute hero like that can then I'm sure mortals can too.

7 left. If we can win them, Man City are powerless. Different with Arsenal due to their goal difference, but if we won 7 and they won 6, we'd have done enough.

Europa a distraction in the week, then try to beat Crystal Palace at Anfield - one of very few chances remaining for fans to remind Jürgen how thankful they are.

Bigger, bigger picture - look at our opponents today. That draw has ensured that they almost certainly don't play Champion's League football next season, yet they're singing "Jürgen's cracking up" at the end - how far they have fallen is ridiculous.

Every League season is a battle, but the war for Football is forever and we are much better placed for next season than many sides.
    Agree Sid.
Spurs could and might very likely do to Arsenal what Utd have done to us. Nothing's a given and there's always going to twists. 21 games left between the three. They won't all be straight forward.
