Either way their ambitions massively eclipse ours at every turn. They have had a stadium which the Manchester media has labelled ‘in a state’ for all of what 5 years? Even then it’s only bad - in places - compared to our new stands. And instantly they want to redevelop or build new.
They are lucky they have TV pundits who live on air demand more from their owners.
Not content with having by far the biggest stadium in the land, they want to aim for 100,000. And why not.?
So glad we stuck with 2 tourist stands bolted onto a relic. 60,000 the stars we reach for. It’s not like we have a ST waiting list as long as the Mersey Tunnel. Don’t forget - IF we fleece the day trippers enough we can make match day revenue a healthy cash cow.
Granted the atmosphere is becoming stale but what has atmosphere ever done for us - eh?
They’ll get tax payers to cover some of the costs… Watch them.
Have you been to either ground? Sid. Forget leaky roof videos - it’s a massive ground - it dwarfs ours and was way ahead of Anfield for years pre 2016. In many ways it still is. Yes it is dilapidated in areas - but The Kop and the centenery are as bad and worse in some aspects.
Anfield is only really revered and so famous for its crowd mate that unique passion - that’s the people - the stadium bricks and mortar are literally nothing compared to many grounds around the country despite so called redevelopment.
Go and see for yourself.
As for Olympics and the Euros… well - not fit for purpose. But Taylor Swift,., No problem
