Is it possible FSG could be thinking:
"new manager, fanbase aren't expecting much, we can do what the fuck we want, including failing to upgrade the squad, because nothing's expected"?

Do you genuinely believe Edwards would come back if all he was brought in to do was penny pinch?

    Hey, who knows - maybe.

It's also entirely possible that with Hughes having his first season at Liverpool in an incredibly important role for us that they want evidence that he can perform well with a finite/lean budget before trusting him with more money further down the line when he has proven that he is up to the task. No disrespect to the work he did at Bournemouth, but Liverpool as an entity and with the level of players we should be signing are a big step up.

Speculation/conjecture on my part and on yours.

I've definitely been on here far too much the last few days - transfer silly season has hooked me in a way that it normally doesn't, probably with a new Manager and curiosity about what may be different going forward.

are we letting salah and vvd leave for free then?

Could have got over 100m literally a season ago...... jesus wept that would have gone towards the replacements and players we need

Trent too? we'd make some good money........... if any of these leave for 3 considering how skint we are theres somethign seriously wrong at this club.

while selling players that are on the fringes. I was disappointed in letting Bobby Clark go. I know he probably won't get close to the team this season. But i think theres a player in there..
Except that's literally the opposite of what happened with Zubimendi. But don't let facts get in the way of a good conspiracy.

If we lost all 3 next year, the amount of investment required to keep us at the level we currently would be huge. There is no way they see doak as a replacement for salah or quansah as a replacement for vvd.

Right now I would like a top CB in, if virgil went, we would need 2.

I can't see them letting then 3 of them go without offering up a decent contract. I think one or two will be signed up before or early into the season as a way to appease fans. Especially if we sign no one.
