He's average. Compare him to Torres in his first two years
It's no secret that I think he is better than average, though it's undeniable that there are holes in his game and things to work on. Composure in 1-v-1s, being caught offside less often and having one or two "go-to" finishes that he has worked on in training rather than the over-think he seems to do would lift him up a few levels.
Torres in 07/08 is a high, high, high bar. He came third in the Ballon d'Or and scored a pretty ludicrous amount of goals - he could have had League goals in the 40s/50s in a Klopp side I think.
187.15 minutes per goal in the Premier League in Darwin's career with us so far - given that most matches will be 93/94 minutes, he is pretty much spot on for 1-in-2 in terms of minutes played in the League, which paints a slightly more accurate picture than appearances. This is with the obvious limitations in his game.
It's 182.52 minutes per goal for Jota in his Premier League career, as a comparison. A caveat being that he played two of those seasons with Wolves, whilst a caveat in the opposite direction being that Jota enjoyed playing when our side was at its peak.
Diaz is about 280 minutes per goal in the Premier League for us. Doesn't get minutes from a central position to be fair, so would expect different numbers.
I don't think he's average. Though he certainly isn't as good as he "should" be.
Darwin Nunez has been banned from representing for Uruguay for 5 matches.
Ridiculous decision but good.
Ridiculous decision, he was trying to protect his family.
Good for Liverpool as he won’t be travelling to South America for several International breaks.
I hope the US get fined as well for having pathetic police presence at the games. Its amazing no one was killed or seriously hurt
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Ah, right. A few rival fans have been joking that it's a shame that it's not a domestic ban as that would mean he wouldn't be available to play for us for a few games.
Given Chiesa's signing, do you think Nunez will be seen as being surplus to requirements?
Can’t see us keeping 6 forwards (plus Harvey) in the long term
