I feel we have more chance of getting past either in this tournament playing Slot’s more cautious, detailed and higher quality style than Klopp’s blood and thunder.

Be great if we could replicate the second half quality across 90 minutes.

What a second half, against an appointment who hadn’t lost away in a year and a half.

Brilliant half time team talk and tactical tweak yet again from Slot.
    Brilliant management again.

Good point - 18 months since they lost an away game. That’s some record and we did it in real style.

Didn't the Europa League final count as an away game?

They weren't playing it in Leverkusen.

That’s a neutral venue. Not an away fixture. Who is the home side?

The solidity we are showing does look encouraging. I'd still readily admit that I would rather avoid Man City and in particular Real Madrid in knockout football just for now.

I'm hoping we navigate the league stage of the tournament smoothly and end up with matches like PSV or Celtic etc and just continue to grow into the tournament.

Lets not get carried away, we might be top of the Premiership and Champions League, but lets be honest ….we haven’t really played any one yet… 😜😎

    Speaking of the League.

We know from past experience that the best way to win the League against Man City is to build up a lead to begin with. They had an injury to Laporte back then and it's Rodri now.

I look at those Brighton and Tottenham fixtures for them before they face us and think it's entirely plausible that they maybe get 4 points there rather than 6 from those matches.

With that in mind, we have to win ours - absolutely have to. The thought of Man City arriving at Anfield 4 points behind us, with us having the potential opportunity to beat them and get a 7-point gap......tantalising. Would not be an unassailable lead even if it came to pass, but would heap the pressure onto them.

We have to do everything in our power to create that scenario - the Villa and Southampton games are now monster fixtures.
