Great challenge late on in the game.. even Virgil gave him the high 5s. he obviously loves the club and you can't blame him.
Love watching little snippets of youtube of the lads having fun..
stuff like this before Tsmiskas injury though. we have such great friendship going on https://www.youtube.com/shorts/l7K-Z0APQWE

Absolutely imperious today and he has had a lot of good games this season.

Really hope he can remain fit for the majority of it - some rotation will likely be needed for that and for that reason I hope Robertson and Tsimikas are back soon to free up Gomez to help out at centre-back.

Don't want him playing 3 times per week if it can be avoided. If he continues to improve yet further.....my word.
Completely agree mate, he was an absolute beast at the back today , hopefully it continues I think he could be a brilliant defender for us

I think there is an argument that he has been our best centre-back this season, when available?

Certainly that Leverkusen performance was ridiculous.

Hope our next "big" centre-back signing can hold a candle to Virg and Ibou, as we are truly blessed in this department, especially when Ibou manages to remain fit.

Naah - Virgil all the way mate. It's just that with Virgil the expectations are so incredibly high. Salah often suffers the same fate. Virgil is far and away our best CB. If you can - I urge you to go watch a game and you'll see the difference.

There is a good argument to say Vigil has been our best player full stop

Virgil looks like he is not breaking sweat, his reading of the game is so good, so maybe Ibou making last ditch blocks catches the eye more. Also Virgil is fantastic at organising, not only the back line, even attacks and switches of play, and defending set pieces.

He’s the best around - incredible player that walks into any team. Pure class.. He runs the team at his own tempo - and when we struggle to score - he pops up and delivers there too.

100%. He's Gerrard-esque. Irreplaceable and it's going to be a very sad day when he hangs up boots at Liverpool. A club legend through and through.

Still a lot more to come from my man Konate, he’s improving

He makes more tackles because he plays 1v1 against the opposition player trying to exploit Trent’s absence on our right & often isn’t that well supported when in the 1v1’s (as in cover coming across) & doesn’t really need to be, but he’s a front foot defender, he’s going to quickly get the tackle in after jockeying the player to where he wants him to try & stop him getting closer to our goal & to stop other opposition players having the chance/time to join the attack

I think we have had an incredible start because of the defensive solidity and therefore the two centrebacks. So i won't say Ibou has been our best CB but he is running Virg close and I mean it in a good way, Not that Virg is dropping but more that Ibou is raising his game.

I especially loved him against Arsenal even against Chelsea, players are just not getting any change from Ibou 1v1 he is so strong.

But Virg is the man, it is his marshalling of the defense and his reading of the game that has been a massive pArt of where we are...
