To be fair he could have also given a couple of pens against us that VAR wouldn’t have got involved in.

Thats because he knew he fucked up in the earlier incident. He didnt wish to appear to be bias..You see sometimes being obviously bias has its draw backs.. You can't continue to give stuff against one team. it becomes way to obvious in that scenario

The Konate challenge in the first half. To me that was 50/50. both players clipped each other.
The second half was a penalty for the drag back. But Konate himself was dragged back in the incident that lead to him hurting his arm in a previous game. If officials have decided to be less likely to give penalties for stuff like that. then fine. as long as the are consistent.

This isn't a new attack on Coote...we has a club have had numerous issues while hes officiated out matches. Be it in the middle or in the broom cupboard in Stockley park. You can go back years on here.In the comments.
I know i'm like not HIM.. when i see his name pop up for our fixtures. To be fair its the same with several others..Michael Oliver use to be a fair referee. I just don't know what happened with him.. Maybe i'm looking at it in a bias manner myself..

Just seems that the only team in the league that gets no bad calls against them is Man-City , If our officials were that poor.. They'd suffer at the hands of them also

Managers berate officials every single game so I don’t begrudge the refs having a go back. Wish we’d see a bit more of that. Would make things more interesting.

The flowers on here can’t take the slightest criticism yet they expect refs to take it week in, week out. Double standards.

Having said that, it obviously can’t leak into bias against clubs. If there’s proof of that then he should be sacked. The Salah decision was bizarre. He should have to explain that.

Where did that video originate from?
Someone has to be either extremely stupid or extremely vindictive.

I have no problem with Referees passing comment, we all do it and its a free World, but the issue I have is:

Firstly you have to question his judgement in allowing someone to record such controversial comments towards another Manager and Football Club in this social media age, especially whilst he is still employed as a Premier League Referee, it is incredibly arrogant, stupid and naïve to think that this will not surface at some point down the road…. and ultimately reflect so badly on him and his fellow Refereeing colleagues…

Secondly, given Jurgen Klopp and all managers in general are all striving to achieve sporting success under extreme pressure, it’s perfectly understandable that if they feel any Referee has in their judgement, made either one or two controversial calls, that has ultimately cost him valuable points in either a difficult Title race or relegation battle, any Manager, not just Klopp, is obviously going to passionately and possibly angrily question the Referee’s judgement. I am not trying to defend the indefensible here but tbf in Klopps defence he has admitted on many an occasions that he has reflected on his own behaviour and has admitted that sometimes he has over reacted…and apologised about it

Let’s be clear, all Managers are under enormous pressures to deliver and work really hard to deliver success on the pitch, this can obviously result in things being said “ in the heat of the moment “ that can come across as someone just being rude and arrogant.

Coote’s failure to understand this and then react so badly too having his own judgement questioned, is in itself arrogant, and the fact that he ends up holding a grudge, once again brings into question his own judgement both on and off the field of play…

Everyone agrees his comments are somewhat ill advised, naïve and downright offensive, unfortunately to add to his woes several very contentious, dubious and costly decisions that have now been highlighted on social media in the 17 LFC games he has either been in charge of VAR…. or Refereed… this just looks so bad and fans are now rightly questioning not only the integrity of Coote, but Referees and the PGMOL in equal measure, sad but true…

    Over to you PGMOL …

Which fans are you speaking for here? You and who else? You know your argument is in bad shape when Danny Murphy is talking more sense on the matter. You can’t just take Coote and tar every ref with the same brush. That type of thinking is stupid and dangerous.

Your post is also full of double standards. You give managers a pass for being bellends “because they are under pressure”, without accepting that everyone involved in top level sport is under pressure. Players, coaches, managers, refs, the lot. Either they all get to be dickheads when it suits, or none of them do.

As for Coote, he’ll never ref a Liverpool match again. Even though he didn’t say anything about Liverpool. That was his drunken mate. Coote’s issue was with Klopp. Let’s say he had called Mourinho a whining prick instead. Would you still be up in arms and demanding his head?

The argument about poor officiating and corruption more widely predates this viral video.

Its sad this video was needed to remove him from the game
