The concern in the midfield is having to play Gravenberch every game, he can’t continue to do that.

Trent deserves some plaudits for performing so well after being out for a stretch. Despite a few strange moments I thought he was superb

Looking at the fixtures over the next few weeks (i know i know one game at a time) but we play a few games before Arsenal do. If we can keep winning.. Its gonna be a hell of a lot of pressure on Arsenal not to drop any points because the gap will keep growing. Anyhow bring on the barcodes..

Theres everything to be happy about after that.
This start isn't just luck, the quality was already there but now there's tactical quality from the management that is making big differences.
Defence looks absolutely rock solid, midfield is excellent with Harvey now back as an option, forwards look real class. Still got Jota to come back soon.
The options in every department are good. Jones could feel hard done by not starting but it's testament to how well everyone is playing and how Slot can mix up different elements to get a different type of performance.
    Long may it continue.

Well, the beauty is, he doesn't have to.

With Elliott back, he can get the odd game in Szoboszlai's position or Mac Allister's, which will free up Mac/Szob for Grav's role.

Also, whilst not a natural or ideal fit for how Slot wants to play, Wataru Endo still exists and is generally available. There are absolutely matches where we can "get away with" using Endo such as certain Cup games or when playing "lesser" sides at Anfield.

    Not forgetting Morton as well.

Even if Endo and Morton were both simultaneously injured we could (if absolutely desperate) drop Gakpo into midfield for a match with Mac and Szob or Mac and Jones as an example to give Grav a night off - that would of course be waaaaay down the list of options, but options we do indeed have.

There will come a tipping point where Arne probably "should" field a 2/3 midfield rather than our 3 best available lads with a view to keeping things fresh and we have a nice cushion now to protect against any slip-ups.

We could let Endo go and get in someone in January. there are suitors of Endo... Theres still rumours of Zubimendi again. we'd be stupid not to add to DM side of our team

Which game would you suggest we’ll be fine without our best 6 Sid, Newcastle away, or Everton away?

Was speaking in a more general full-season sense, but if you had to pin me for a match for Gravenberch to miss of the upcoming two, I'd say Everton.

A midfield unit of Mac Allister, Jones and Szoboszlai would be fine and if we decided we wanted to rest/rotate someone as well as Grav then Endo is perfectly capable of engaging in a scrappy game and has plenty of experience.

Everton also don't score many (10 in 13 League matches) and concede quite a bit (21 so far in the League) so as a collective we should absolutely be capable of beating them without Gravenberch given the disparity of quality between us and Everton.

I'm playing against everton, don't you worry we'll win, the way they've played today... I might even score with my belly

Fear not, if Zubamendi isn't signed up by day 2 of the winter xfer window, Arne will convert Quansah into a clone of Gravenberch.

No fee no big salary, all smiles in Boston
