Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
Why is it when I look at our rivals’ fixture lists I see a host of easy 3 point pushovers but when I look at our list it’s fraught with danger in every single game??
Hopefully yes, we play Weds and Tottenham play Thursday, They'll have to go strong. They need a trophy of some kind.. can't really piss it up the wall
Cleaning up the Scots since the 13th century
It's definitely something I do as well. I see every away game as potential dropped points.
It's lessened in recent years, but throughout the 90s, 2000s, and 2010s an away win at any ground was a good result. Went into most away games with hope rather than expectancy.
It wasn't until we beat Burnley at Turf Moor in 2018 or maybe 2019 (i can't remember now) 3-0 and I realised we were an excellent team and dropping points against anyone would be dissapointing.
Something, Something, Something, Dark Side
Totally agree, Liverpool can always on any given day beat any other Top team in the World, our achilles heel has always been our tendency to consistently struggle against lesser opposition, unfortunately for us in recent seasons, Man City just seem to be the complete opposite and they manage to dismiss lesser opposition with such ease.
So with that in mind, its little wonder we can sometimes view weaker opposition with such concern rather than a level of confidence our status should merit.
You are not wrong, but apart from the Real Madrid and Man City game, we have struggled to string together a really good 90mins, but at least our new more considered style has made us better defensively and as a result we have managed to win games based on a really good 45 mins, whilst avoiding needless defeats… so all good.
