    Your team v Southampton (a)

Danns, Nyoni, Morris and Nallo are not in the U21’s this week, so a fair chance they will be in the squad...

Danns was looking good before his injury, would be good to see him get some minutes, same with Trey Nyoni

Danns has quite a good record against Southampton in cup games.

Surely Endo and Elliot will start?

Who knows even Chiesa might play a few mins

Ok let’s have a go at this having listened to Arne’s presser.

The ever robust and always available Diogo Jota would have started but wasn’t able to train yesterday so won’t (FFS!!!!!)

    Kelleher
    TAA Quansah Gomez Tsimi
    Elliott Endo MacAllister
    Salah Nunez Gakpo

Tsimikas trained yesterday, MacAllister can put an hour in to get ready for Spurs and let’s hope for a clean sheet to boost Quansah’s confidence.

Chances are both Nallo and Morris start...

    So.........

Gomez, Quansah, Nallo, Morris as a potential back line......

That would be a surprise considering Slot’s previous domestic cup lineups, he hasn’t gone that far with resting players

Would not be remotely surprised to see -

    - One of Endo or Gravenberch playing a centre-back role, perhaps beside Gomez
    - Morton playing (if he's fit? I have lost track)
    - Elliott used on the right in a front three

We won't "throw" the Cup of course, but with Southampton being as poor as they are (despite giving us a very good game this season) and with us seemingly in a genuine title challenge, I can totally see Slot rotating a bit more than he has been in the hope we have a side that has "enough" to get us to the semi-final whilst minimising risk to the main first-teamers.

Bum it off. Hate to say that.. but the squad isn't nearly big enough. Not to keep dragging itself to results in the league as it has and then keep going through the Christmas marathon. We probably won't add anyone this January and even if we do - over extending now could be disastrous. Just go like Chelsea do in the Europa Conference
