Henry and Werner sit on the Board of Directors, as does Hogan who also reports to FSG directly. The role of the Board is to exercise oversight including over operations and key decisions affecting the future direction of the club....

Ian Graham is on record as saying decisions on contract renewals typically occurred "two to three years" into a player's contract; if they do not renew you have to consider a transfer....

To have a situation where we could lose a player for free whose transfer value is possibly £80m is a strategic mistake and ultimate responsibility lies with the club's Board.....
