A lot of that squad have been through this before so the nerves and anxiety is something I'd hope might drop off.
We seem to have stopped doing the basics again to see games out. I personally don't think we can see the season out playing this way, sooner or later this lull has to end and they need to pick it up again.
Exactly the same pattern as Everton. We looked liked we'd killed the game off and kept the ball pretty well for 10 mins after we scored then all of a sudden we just start hoofing it. Baffling.

I do think that yesterday was both a physical and mental hangover from the Everton game. I'm less convinced that we've burned ourselves out for the season. Whilst we were'nt great against Everton we did put in a shift, as did Everton. It was a battle.

Slot has to rotate a little more I think, and trust his players. Quansah came on and played really well yesterday, his vital challange near the end was excellent defending. Endo came on and shut the space down.

I think he should have rotated a few for the Wolves game and gone full strangth against Villa.

In the end, the result is the most importanat thing. By hook or by crook at this stage of the season.

we can't afford to rotate too much.... we'd have probably drew or lost.......

Not much quality outside 14 players, maybe rotate 3?

Who do we start Elliot? Tsimikas? Endo? Chiesa? Nunez?

Simply not good enough and nowhere near the standard of the starters yesterday, Nunez perhaps wouldn't have done any worse than Jota.

Chiesa is hit and miss quality is there, but yeah.

In slot I trust, if he thought we'd win with them starting he would, it's clear he doesn't think much of some squad players.

Endo did alright when he came on, some silly fouls that could have led to wolves scoring from free kick, if they had some quality, but I've only seen some of the game anyway so can't really judge it's obvous slot doesn't rate him though.

The other issue I find with not rotating earlier in the season is that now we will need endo / chiesa / tsimi to come in but they haven't had many games (tsimi has had a few) so it takes time to get up to the speed of league games. Endo showed rust oat rhe weekend but he didn't lack in effort at least.

The spurs game wasn’t long ago, and as bad as they were, we were excellent. We do have a habit of dropping off against the ‘lower’ rated teams and raising our game against better opponents… that’s partly why I don’t get over excited when we get drawn against teams like Plymouth Argyle. Our lack of control yesterday was definitely a concern. It’s something we were doing very well earlier in the season but needs working on now.

A false narrative about us having fantastic squad started to be pushed when Klopp announced he was leaving and when Slott arrived, but anybody who has consistently watched us should know that our squad is nowhere near as good as is being made out, never mind as good as it should be.

We have a very good first eleven, but once you go past those players the quality and consistency we can call upon drops quite dramatically. Even in our first eleven we have issues be it TAA not looking arsed, Robbo being on the decline, Gravenberch being flogged to death and Diaz lacking consistent end product once again etc.

We tailed off very badly last season. Our last few performances rightfully have some people concerned that we're going to hit a brick wall once again. We have a few inconsistent players on the bench who can possibly do a job for a few minutes here or there, or even the occasional game, but if we're going to rely on them for more than that or rely on our first eleven playing at a high level between now and the end of the season, we could be in big trouble despite the current points gap between us and Arsenal.

I do agree, that's why I say arsenal have more depth apart from attacking, but even so with all the injuries now, sterling trossard and that 17 year old that looks like he'll be amazing, isn't bad considering who's out for them, we've got better quality up front though and depth, but that's it.

Gakpo Jota salah starting front 3 for me, Diaz shouldn't be a starter most of the time, the whole left side could do with a few transfers to be fair, and we need at least another quality midfielder.

And that's before the contract situation, still think we could do better up front too, I.E a top striker like isak but that's not the priority, even Cunha would be good.

Arsenal will be scary when they sign a striker who's quality in summer, and i'm sure they will, but man city will be favs in my opinion
