Worst move Ronny ever made was leaving Madrid, hopefully Salah doesn't make the same mistake.

Whilst top class attackers are obviously great, I think VVD will be harder to replace. Felt the same about Barca never could replace Xavi, whilst Messi would be the name on everyone's lips.

Salah came into Liverpool who'd gone 27 years without a PL title. Ok 05 they won CL but that was crazy the way that happened. When he came in they had basically just scraped top 4 but looked miles off being a real top side. He came in immediately transformed them into one of the fiercest sides in Europe producing a crazy first season reaching CL final. Helped fire them to CL glory and a 97 point season in his second season. Their first title in 30 years. League Cups, FA Cups another CL final. Record breaking output and is now carrying them from an attacking perspective to another Premier League title and could break more records.

When you factor in where Liverpool were and how Salah has been the thrusting force in Liverpools attack for 8 years and all the trophys and accolades which have came with it.

It is difficult tho. Like I can't go back and analyse the 70s and 80s, but those were top sides for the most part never as dependent on one player as Liverpool have been on Salah especially since Mane left.

Good post i've seen from a arsenal fan, not sure about the last bit because we've not been a one man team like we was with gerrard, we've got quality all over.

He was rubbish against PSG. A one off, or a sign of things to come?

One off I think. To be fair he didn't get much of the ball and Mendes did a good job on him. There was a couple of times he could have played people in but the pass was poor, very unlike him.

Agreed. He's having such a good season that it's most likely a one off. If you're considering his next mega contract though, you'd be worried about that performance being the norm in the next couple of seasons as he ages.

The third big game, in as many weeks, where we needed him and he was nowhere to be seen. A blip, or a sign of things to come?

Hes probably realizing now. hes not gonna get the contract he wants. Considering the season hes had and all hes given.. must be very difficult mentality and emotionally to think no matter what hes given to this club. The likes of Richard Hughes and the owners think more about the money they can save on his wages.

Hes been a great servant but let's be clear, he's always been paid very handsomely to be that servant. If his new offer is (as is believed) to be the same or a little more than his current deal then maybe he should just sign it. He has been treated very well, rarely if ever benched even through bad spells and even when he's clearly nowhere near 100% in ramadan. VVD is the one we'd miss most
