Made up with this. Tying him and Mo down for the next couple of years is massive. I'm not arsed about Trent fucking off either if it means having to pay him 350k a week or whatever to stay. He's not worth anywhere near that.

TAA making it abundantly clear he wants to leave despite claiming that he loves the club, wanting to join that bunch of gits, combined with the massive drop off in his performances has led to his legacy being tarnished to the point where many Reds would be or will be much more annoyed that he's leaving on a free as apposed to him just leaving the club for a sizeable fee.

    This.

Bradley already IS the superior defender between the two, and he still has potential to improve his forward play and attacking game even more (and it's already quite good as we've seen he has the odd great cross and clever assist here and there. He's also quit intelligent going forward - knowing when to make and hold his runs to facilitate an attacking teammate or draw opposing defender).
We know he's not allergic to grafting or tracking back and just on those scores alone, he's a big plus for me over Trent.

If we're worried about his durability and fitness to be a starter, then the club should make it a priority to bring in a reliable proven alternative as cover and competition for the role (even though Bradders should be the default starter from the start of the season, but then challenge the new guy to take the role from him. Some healthy competition never hurt a team).

Hopefully they can get a multi-flank capable fullback who's able to paly at either flank and kill two birds with one stone (as that other side also needs addressing).
I know those are harder to get, but along with some cover for the CB position, we could go a long way in fixing our defensive issues.

I'm not fussed about Trent leaving - that much ought to be obvious.
He's never going to be the promising FB he once was with us for Madrid and I don't think Real are getting a player who's going to play any better for them than he did for us in his best days a couple of seasons ago at the height of the Klopp era.
It was probably the perfect time for us to part ways and for him to move on to other challenges and I wish him only the best as he goes to play with his mate at the Bernabeau.

As it stands, much better position. I hope we're sensible about it. I don't think we need an 8-in, 8-out sort of situation honestly. Probably more outgoings (numerically) than arrivals, but maybe 3-5 of the RIGHT players coming in would really lift us.
I'd be happy with 3 solid new signings. Would be nice to have at least one really good one to get excited about but who knows. We signed well when mac szobo and grav came in. Something like that would be great.

We really need a Left Back, a CB and a DM.

That’s without anyone leaving but I think we pretty much all see Nunez going out and a replacement coming in, so that’s 4 at least.

We will miss Salah for around 10 games at a key stage of the season during AFCON.
Slot doesn’t rate Chiesa so it looks like he will go too and will need replacing.

We can’t just bring two or three in and expect us to challenge again next season.

I wonder if the loan guys will be brought back to fill some positions?
Doak, Bacjetic, Morton? I can't see how more than three or four max signings are made.
Even discounting finance issues it's just way too much upheaval, integrating so many would be difficult.

I can't remember any club doing it aside from maybe Chelsea when Mourinho first arrived and some of those signings ended up duds.
In my opinion in terms of the team/players being used it'll be similar to this one.

Yeah. Its unlikely to see more than 4/5 in total including 1 or 2 for the bench. Unfortunately we haven't been adding to the squad each year so we need more but doubt it'll happen and as you say It'd be a lot of upheaval.

Slot arrived with a reputation for developing young talent (and operating on a budget) and maybe he will with time but it's alarming how many of our youngsters and loanees have had long term injury problems this season:

Doak, Morton, Danns, Calum Scanlon, Luke Chambers, Luca Stephenson, Owen Beck

Kaide Gordon, Calvin Ramsay have had long term injuries in the past and struggled for minutes on loan.

The only successful loanees this season seem to be Lewis Koumas, Doak before his injury, and Bajcetic

Slot didn't want the 'impressive' James McConnell going out on loan but has hardly used him since.

If we wrap up the league this month I wonder if Slot will use the remaining games to give minutes to players, or use them as a 'shop window' or a swan-song for Endo, Elliott, Chiesa, Trent etc, whoever else is leaving.
