Nunez as neither gone backwards or forwards. hes been the same player we signed 3 years ago. He should have kicked on after his first season. Hes just not the player whos going make it with us.

I don’t get this take mate , box office what ?? In all seriousness I think Nunez will be remembered for the highlight reel of misses that he should of scored, he had a great work ethic , he scored a few good goals every 12-15 games . He has been up there in the most disappointed I’ve ever been with a signing , thought he would kick on to be a world beater but he’s been average at best

He's outperformed every Arteta signed forward for goals & assists. Total and per minute.

He's got similar goals & assist per minutes stats with Isak. Isak is adored by Toon fans, and Darwins had a rough ride with fans and media.

He had his red card early on that tainted him. A hot head, a red card risk, all from a rather handbags incident.
Look at how Everton players get away without such a smear and see their dirty dangerous play.
Pep adapted to Halaand. Klopp didn't adapt as well to Nunez.

People call him a flop. Yet all of the above is true. Media circus impacts his assessment.
Jota scores 1 from 5 shots and hes back, maybe a flurry of goals. Darwin pivotal in recent goals, no such outlook.

He has scored 5 goals this season , in nearly 30 games, the same amount as josko gvardiol, he regularly goes many games without a goal , i don’t think his numbers are all round play are nowhere near good enough , the really good players adapt in a system , he’s also not good enough for us to adapt a system to him , if Isak had the chances Nunez gets he would be near salah numbers

Barcelona would consider a swap deal involving Uruguay centre-back Ronald Araujo, 26, and Liverpool's 28-year-old Colombia winger Luis Diaz. (Relevo - in Spanish)

Our system essentially has Salah no1 attacker. In the PL our other 4 regular attacking players combined get as much chances to score as Salah alone almost.
Last I checked they were fairly even on being as clinical or marginally better. Jota is our least clinical attacker this season.

    Goals
    Salah 27
    Others 28
    Diaz 9, Gakpo 8, Jota 6 & Nunez 5.

    Xg/Expected-Goals
    Salah 21.52
    Others 25.11
    Diaz 7.75 Gakpo 5.92, Jota 6.54 & Nunez 4.9

The above from PL FF site.

    From whoscored
    Whoscored have Salah

    With penalties
    Salah 23.21xG & 27 goals
Salah 16.25xG &18 goals excluding penalties

When Salah was out last year for 6 games scoring goals wasn't an issue. A small sample of games but when Mo wasnt there to gobble up our xG, Others got the chances and we scored more & got more ppg. That hasn't happened with Virgil by and large. Ifnhes out we struggle. The no9 roles been tough this season no matter who plays there for us.

Isak in contrast is adored at Newcastle, starts all the time, has little competition & gets the XG. Were he here this season he'd be playing second fiddle to Salah.

    Excluding penalties this season alone.
    Isak xG 14.96 & 18 goals
    Darwin xG 5.3 & 5 goals

A basic conversion would suggest Darwin would get 14 goals where Isak has scored 18.

That's ignoring the mental advantages Isak enjoys at Newcastle.

Manchester United and Liverpool are among the clubs interested in signing Lyon's 21-year-old French forward Rayan Cherki this summer. (Mail - subscription required)
