Lookin forward to it Kev, we’re both taking the following day off in anticipation of one belter of a day.

He was on my shoulders in St George’s Square after Istanbul aged 12.
He’s a full 6 inches taller than me these days, more like I could be on his shoulders.. lolz

We then beat Newcastle... and Arsenal drew with Forrest to wrap up February. That was it done. Seemed fairly obvious at that time.
    Did you?

I say that it's not done until you have the necessary points in the bag. We beat Newcastle to get to 67 points. That's not 'done'. Time and hindsight may prove that 67 points was enough to win the title but I doubt it.

As I said on another thread it may be that we amassed the necessary points with Jota's winner against Everton (73 points) or more likely van Dijk's winner against West Ham (76 points) but only time and hindsight will tell.

When I was a kid I remember Ronnie Moran saying it's not over until it's mathematically impossible and that made a big impression on me, I'd rather take that stance and leave the premature celebrations to Arsenal.

    We have played 5 games since February 2025, won 4 & lost 1 !
    2.4 points per game
2.39 points per game for the season.
Southampton, Everton, Fulham (L), West Ham & Leicester the 5.
You'd expect LFC to get 12 points based on the first 28 games.

What results were you expecting ?

Arsenal were on 54 points after 27 games.
    2 ppg.
You'd expect them to get 14 points from 21 points in their next 7.
They got 13 points from 21.

Arsenal had a tougher set of fixtures since.

Seems to me you're applying a general maxim to argue against a specific situation. Strange that you still believe it's a 2 horse race between LFC and Arsenal.

Arsenal have this very unjustifiable arrogance. Not sure where it comes from, like they're obliged to win trophies because they play a prettier brand of football.
I don't remember their fans being so arrogant when they had success under Wenger. They were a likeable side back then. It's the Arteta effect that's made them very unlikeable in my opinion.
Be interesting if they finally manage to win their first European Cup/Champions League.
They'll then be chasing down our six.

Arteta and the media fawning over their team has made me hope they go longer than our 30 year wait to be champions. That's a possibility. We are strong and sadly,City will soon be back challenging.

I'm not so sure about City. They'll need to have a very good summer transfer window as they have a lot of players that look well off it and Pep has looked drained too.

Inclined to agree. The reason City have dropped off is that the players they've bought in the last few years have been nowhere near the standard of the main players who've been their catalysts for success. It caught up with them along with Rodri being injured and players like De Bruyne,Silva and Ederson declining.
They'll obviously be in there but think it's a bigger job than people think and I don't see them being the machine they were.

Id like to see how they get Marmoush and Haaland into the 11 without weaking their midfield. Ball spitter always likes control of games with possession.
