So you'd like us to sign noone and let bradley be first choice? Quansah/Gomez as cover? /Shivers

yeah that'll go well for trying to win the league again...... not to mention his injury issues, he's good but he's getting overhyped by some, just other game other day showed he's not ready....

I'd like us to sign players for every position other than Inbetween the sticks. Given that's not going to happen, for me there are some areas that need more attention than others and should thus be prioritised.

If we believe that Bradley is going to progress enough to become our first choice RB for years to come, I'd like us to bring in an experienced RB who can help with Bradley's progression and to provide adequate cover for him. Ideally we'd want a RB who can both attack and defend to a high level, but such FB's aren't ten-a-penny, and those that can provide both of those things to a high level are going to cost a few bob and aren't going to settle for anything other than being guaranteed that they are the first choice player in that position.

I personally have more concerns with Quansah and Gomez potentially having to play in central defence rather than in one of the FB positions.

Quansah is not fluid enough to play at right back.. Fluid in the sense he will always stop and start play.. Similar to Wan-Bissaka when he signed for Man-united. decent enough defender but offered shit all going forward..
Gomez, is ok but still not of good enough quality for right back.. We need cover for Bradley..

Getting in some cover for Bradley is fine, but is Frimpong really going to accept being that cover, never mind suitable cover? Also in terms of the FB positions, I thought most people saw the LB position as more of a priority?

I think it's safe to say that nobody wants this, nor would actively advocate for it.

Whether or not it would be "begrudgingly accepted" if it means we seriously strengthen in other positions might be a different matter, as there will always be an area of the pitch where we think we can upgrade our situation.

We don't know how much money will be allocated, but speaking purely for myself, if we can (for talk's sake) address left-back long-term and centre-back long-term, but in doing so can't afford to sort the right-back situation out, I'd take that over the dread of being without a replacement for at least one of Van Dijk or Konaté in the windows to come - the contract extension for Virgil has bought us time, but our centre-back situation could unravel relatively quickly, so I view that as priority from a future-proofing perspective.

Or indeed another season of Robertson and Tsimikas while Robbo continues to lose his legs a bit - he can definitely still contribute in a number of games, but we need a first-choicer in.

Just for talk's sake - the ideal of course is to be able to address all three positions and honestly, if we are a bit creative with one or two of our deal structures and one or two of our sales, I believe we absolutely can be, even within our (overall) leaner spending methodology.

According to Romano - Liverpool have contacted Bournemouth for Milos Kerkez deal with talks now advancing! Liverpool are also completing the agreement on personal terms with Kerkez, keen on the move. Negotiations underway between clubs on transfer fee.

Brilliant if we can get that over the line and frimpong so early, maybe even Cherki with FSG'S money.

then sell players to raise money for the rest.

For a reported Ł126m? Do we really think FSG will splash that kind of cash?
