    See Busby - Shankly - Clough - Fergy - Wenger - Klopp
Without wanting to open up our debate again, they/the clubs all recruited well. In United's case they were fortunate that they had 3/4 of a side in the youth system ready to go. Wenger brought in half of France's World Cup winning side. And Klopp wasn't winning either of the big two without Van Djik and Ali.

Until United do the same it wont matter which manager they bring in, generational or not.

Someone like Klopp were certainly galvanise the cub, very much in the way he did with us. But it would need to be backed up with good players. And United simply haven't signed enough of them.

They see to be in a death spiral. I don't see much of a way out. They won't be attracting many good players with no european football and a well publicised toxic dressing room.I think their best option is to offload a whole heap of their overpaid squad, even at a big loss, and start promoting young guns from their academy. Bite the bullet, accept not much success for a couple of seasons, but let Amorim coach them the way to play.

One of the worst games of football I have ever sat through. Can only be thankful of the correct result!

The player recruitment has been probably the worst by any club considering the money they've spent. Who ever thought them 2 centre forwards were a good idea needs shot. At least our Darwin scored a few important goals.

Our match against Spurs to win Big Ears, whilst inducing jubilation at the end, wasn't a thrill-fest.

    But we won so......

We had already had our thrilling match in that tourney in that memorable semi-final tie against Barca.

Any final was always going to be a let-down in comparison and likely lacking the punch of what we had already had to do to get there.

Plus, not to be arrogant or anything but knowing beforehand that it was Spurs we would play, the players probably knew they wouldn't need to get out of second gear to get the job done.
