I guess I'm like most and struggling to grasp this.. Like i typed earlier.. Life can be so random in things like this.. most of us expect to die of old age..we will all move on in time. But Diogo and his brothers family it will always be there,, The tragedy will always be part of their lives.. So sad what happened last evening...

I can't argue with any of that Kev, football feels so meaningless right now

Understood Kev. I totally understand the numbness. Can't imagine me checking the internet every day for a transfer link etc just now for example. Currently so low down the list of what feels important.

Take your time. If there's one thing that is guaranteed, it's that our fanbase will rally. It's just what they do. I imagine Jota's song gets sung loudly on the 20th minute of all our Home games for quite some time for example.

It's a club and fanbase all-too-familiar with tragedy. The wagons will circle, we'll grieve and we'll endure - then the joy will gradually return. It will take time of course, but I figure if Kenny can enjoy watching matches in the ground given everything he went through around Hillsborough, then most of us will be reaching a point where we love watching the matches again - and slowly but surely, there will be laughter about Jota wiping the smile off Richardson's face, the Playstation controller celebrations etc rather than the immense weight of the loss.

Baby steps - it's far too early and the pain far too fresh. See you when you're ready and look after yourself - grief has a way of impacting individuals in very unique ways and there is no shame to be had in any of them. Fans that need a reprieve will be back when they're back and the community will embrace them with open arms.

Your contribution will be seriously missed kev, we’re all in this together, we’re all here for each other (well except for CCTV & Steveo obvs). Many of us have been on here for years now and it genuinely feels like a real community. Most of us have never met in person or probably ever will but that doesn’t stop us from looking out for each other.

I get a fair amount of enjoyment out of being on here, 90% of the regulars seem like genuine decent people and I always look forward to seeing my fellow Forumites post on here, to see what everyone thinks about the latest events.

Hell I even respect your opinions.. well some of them… maybe

But seriously I would be very sad if anything happened to the forum, I would really miss you guys.

So yeah take time out kev but come back soon eh mate?

Typical Jota, gets stuck in, wins the ball and makes the extra dribble before shooting. This will be replayed alot, and its quite the golaso.
His getting stuck in and the extra dribble was actually what got him injured so much!

For me its going to really hit when the season starts and and he's just not there.
I enjoyed all the official pr skits and interviews he was in.

At least he had a fantastic year on many levels.
Seems like a quick turnaround for the funeral. Maybe his family would like to try and keep it small and not a media circus.
Would we expect protocol for any of our squad to go there. maybe Arne and Virgil?
