I don't think we drop a £400k-per-week player with his goals and assists record.
What we might do is mix our formation/line-up up a bit when he is at AFCON and then it maybe takes a couple of games for him to work back in purely because the side is doing so well - hypothetical of course.
The only other way I could see dropping Mo being remotely considered is towards the end of the season if we had an agreement for a sale to Saudi or something, to accelerate our adjustment to a post-Mo Liverpool a year early. However I honestly think he sees out his contract.
Whilst he did have a shocker yesterday, he still has a goal and an assist in his first 3 league games.
Talk of dropping him is comical.
Something, Something, Something, Dark Side
Theres comes a time when the legs or the mind loses that little bit, not saying its happening to him right now but its happened to many regulars. Fabinho, hendo, robbo eg - we could all see it. Playing deeper even by 5yds has never suited him, maybe he can adapt and maybe he cant. But for him to start on the bench or come off after an hour shouldn't be unthinkable or comical.
No doubt Jota's death hit Salah hard and on top of that he was called out over Palestine this summer which left a bad taste. It may not seem much to us but it puts him in a tricky political situation and he may want to finish his playing days in Saudi.
Salah as always got caught giving away the ball up the pitch.. Its not a new thing.. He maybe trying to many fancy passes these days and more often.. But hes still gonna score more than most and thats all that counts.. Hes produced unbelievable numbers for an inside attacker..
