Seems like a strange decision. Can't see him getting much playing time.
VOTE JOCKY tae fix this fiasco.

Happy with a potential agreement for Isak, even with so much money because we havent many options to the forward line.

Add me to the list along with the both of you.

Gomez can play both FB positions in addition to CB and I believe he also once was played in the DM position as well.

Players like him who can play multiple positions are worth their weight in gold.
He's had a bit of a shaky injury record the last couple of seasons, but we forget he was pretty durable before that - and we wouldn't need him for long stretches if he's mostly backing up the starting back 4/5.
He's also no different to Konate in that regard, who's also a bit injury-prone himself and like Konate a bit liable to the occassional brainfart.

    But....

The difference for me lies in the fact that Gomez wants to be here. He had an opportunity to leave for another club at the end of the Klopp era but instead chose to sign an extension and remain with us even knowing he wouldn't be the preferred starting choice.
Whereas Konate seems like he's pulling a 'Trent' to get his dream move to Madrid. And even if he changes his mind and decides that he doesn't want the move anymore and maybe the Madridista grass really isn't greener and then decides to sign an extension, the bad taste in the mouth has already been left.

Gomez has been the consummate professional and everytime he steps on the field he gives it his all and is a Milner-esque grafter who's been a great servant for the club.
I value that a lot even if the player might not be the quintessential wolrd-beater at his position.
It's a reason while I really like Endo as well despite some thinking he's not good enough.
Never complains, and is always ready to do what the gaffer needs him to do at whatever position and gives you an honest effort.

Completely agree with you on everything.
Gomez is a great team player to have, can play multiple positions, we all know is injury record isn't great but he is reliable when on the pitch. Apart from that he want to be here, that is a major difference. I like Endo too, we shouldn't let him go because he can play multiple positions too, he can't be so good an FB for example but he could do a job for a couple of minutes per game.

Although we no longer need gomez for any fb positions i do feel he would be a better fit as 3rd choice than konate, real downer we didnt get guehi but hope to get him in jan.
    Would be happy with virgl,guehi,gomez,leoni.

Gianluigi Donnarumma joins Man City: Goalkeeper signs for Ł26m

Brilliant signing for them,. 26m for one of the best goalies in the world, and could get 8-10 years out of him.

Can't believe he was strongly linked to utd at one point, to good for them.

You'd not fancy Man-city against any decent team right now.. I was wondering how'd they'd get Marmoush and Halaand in the same 11.since they are both number 9s. Marmoush is having to play wide of the 3.. They don't have any decent full backs and their defending leads a lot to be desired. Man-cheaty..don't play like the use too. pressing at high tempo and most of all controlling the ball in the opposition half. They play more open now. back to front.. Leads to them having less control of matches. means they also need to cover more ground with being forced to run backwards more often.

Yep. No loans for Rhys Williams and Calvin Ramsay either.

Reading that Marc Guehi is very disappointed with Palace and planning to release a statement.

No doubt very professional. I'm wondering though, if you can still loan a player outside the transfer window?
