    3. World Class Defensive Midfielder.

    4. Replace Trent with a midfielder with the passing ability and range of TRENT.

    5. Not splurged Ł100m+ on Wirtz.
I fairness to points 1 and 5 most of us were more than happy with signing those two players. In hindsight we didn't need Wirtz, that might change in the future though. Kerkez was the standout LB in the league last season. He'll come good eventually.

    4. There isn't a player out there who we could have got to replace him,his range and ability in passing are pretty much second to none. Maybe a more solid RB would have been the answer? A player who's a good defender first and foremost.
What's strange is that we haven't downgraded on him in a defensive aspect but we are conceding so many goals.
Usually you'd maybe think it's just taking time for them to settle and sticking with a set 4 may help but we just look miles off the solidity in defense that was a key part of last season.

    Points 2,3 absolutely agree with.

There seems to be so much instability right now. VVD is not looking great either. Konate has had a shaky start despite being better yesterday. I think playing a settled back four would help. Even though Kerkez has been poor we don't really have an alternative as robbo has looked way off it too. Maybe stick with Bradley and use Frimpong further forward as he provides a threat.

The one we should have prioritised was probably Guehi and a DM. The players we've signed have quality. So you'd think they'll come good. The worrying part is maybe that Slot doesn't seem to know what system we're playing.

He's got to drop Mo. It's a hard one as a youngish manager coming in and Mo is the big player in the team. But he's got to do it.

Chiesa, Frimpong, Ekitike gave us so much more in the closing stages than what Mo and Isak had been doing. At least Gakpo pops up with goals. How he missed that one is a mystery but it happens.

Edit: Also, I think we've missed Alisson too. His experience and sweeping, closing down space.

Agree. It's a real mess. The almost conservative measured approach from last season has disappeared. Even if we do score we just don't look solid or in anyway organised.
It's like he's got a wealth of talent but is struggling to implement it, theres not even anything to suggest there's a method to it that just needs time. It's all over the place disorganized chaos.
Defo miss Alisson although Marmadash has done okay I think. Maybe could have done better with the first yesterday but not many complaints of him overall.
The manager of every team we play now must surely be briefing his team on how often we are caught up front with so little protection on cou ter attacks. It's easy to play against and we are falling for it every game.
Pretty much each game we've had to throw the kitchen sink at it late in the game. That's either the system is wrong and not working or players are simply not doing what they're instructed to do and it's absolutely on Slot either way. He needs to address it asap.
If we lose on Wednesday it's the first time since 1953 we'd have lost 5 games straight.

The planning of the transfer team has to be questioned, why pay over 200m for isak & erittikie, buying wirtz and not knowing what to do with dom, needing a rightback and buying frimpong who is seen more as right mid.
    Not buying CB,DM,and left attacker.

You'd wonder if it'd be better to go back to basics for a while just to grind out a couple of results.

Absolutely. The Isak one particularly. We've spent a fortune on him and yet we'd already signed Ekitike? We could have used that money to buy a CB and DM.

Not one of us would have kept Nunez over Isak. And if you say you would, you're a liar.

Ekitike was brought in to replace Diogo. If he hadn't have died I don't think we'd have signed him.

We've signed like for like in all positions except for LW.

But as has been mentioned it isn't just the new lads. What has happened to Mac and Mo? Others are out of form but these two have fallen off a cliff.

Fine. But Ekitike and Isak seem very similar types. A winger type to replace Diaz would have been more useful and would complement either of them. Overall, there's no argument with our firepower - we have the players, but at the expense of our defence/midfield.
