4. There isn't a player out there who we could have got to replace him,his range and ability in passing are pretty much second to none. Maybe a more solid RB would have been the answer? A player who's a good defender first and foremost.
What's strange is that we haven't downgraded on him in a defensive aspect but we are conceding so many goals.
Usually you'd maybe think it's just taking time for them to settle and sticking with a set 4 may help but we just look miles off the solidity in defense that was a key part of last season.
Points 2,3 absolutely agree with.
There seems to be so much instability right now. VVD is not looking great either. Konate has had a shaky start despite being better yesterday. I think playing a settled back four would help. Even though Kerkez has been poor we don't really have an alternative as robbo has looked way off it too. Maybe stick with Bradley and use Frimpong further forward as he provides a threat.
The one we should have prioritised was probably Guehi and a DM. The players we've signed have quality. So you'd think they'll come good. The worrying part is maybe that Slot doesn't seem to know what system we're playing.
He's got to drop Mo. It's a hard one as a youngish manager coming in and Mo is the big player in the team. But he's got to do it.
Chiesa, Frimpong, Ekitike gave us so much more in the closing stages than what Mo and Isak had been doing. At least Gakpo pops up with goals. How he missed that one is a mystery but it happens.
Edit: Also, I think we've missed Alisson too. His experience and sweeping, closing down space.
