must be a record breaking time a club has become a laughing stock

I don't blame other fans to be fair, we'd be the same and have been in recent past i.e UTD

how things change, ironically we spent all that money to stay on top, finally spent big money and look what happens..... ahh whatever at least we won the league last season, the glory days are over.

    Slot's not bringing them back.

I hope i'm proved wrong and we put a end to this run and start winning games in a row.... but as I said after the 5 wins we've played shit and got lucky in them, think we've played about 120 minutes worth of good football in the league in 9 games? in total.

And it's getting worse, not better, I don't see anything to give me hope right now, please prove me wrong statman, is there anything to be positive about, am i completely wrong, are we fast improving and i'm blind ? honestly it's like watching utd last season but better quality players, we have no idea in attack, no idea how to defend, we have no midfield, and the midfield we did have today would get bullied by butch school girls not sure what the tactics are or how we're meant to be playing?

Not sure why slot is talking in the press so much, the other day he basically told every team to just be direct and use long balls against us, nice one lad, he was going on about how teams changing against us etc......telling every team basically the above to beat us..

There's been no improvement in the league, if anything we're getting worse, it's not acceptable

Liverpool: Arne Slot admits his side have 'no answer' to opponents using long balls and low blocks following Brentford defeat

Liverpool boss Arne Slot has admitted his team have "no answer" to opponents using long balls following the 3-2 loss to Brentford; Brentford played 62 long balls on the evening, their most of the season; the Reds have now lost four consecutive games in the league and sit in sixth place

He's done it fucking today, shut the fuck up you idiot

honestly i'm baffled he said shit about long-balls before this game too, hence my post i've quoted just went on skysports and he's done it again....... jesus christ, shut up

it's your job to have a idea you clown, not to tell everyone our weakness and how to beat us easily (not that teams don't already know, but it's not the point is it?) you're basically saying you're failing as a manager, well done.

I was getting some flak for celebrating the title before it was done mathematically last season, and that wasn't in October 2024. It was at the end of February/March 2025.

There's no getting away from things at the minute, they're shit, but all teams will have dips and tough parts of the season.
Assuming Arsenal win tomorrow, thats a 7 point lead and 8 points with goal difference. So there's lots to do for Slot & Co. We'll have Alisson back soon apparently and he'll be some benefit.
Personally don't give a fuck about the cup game v Palace. I do agree with people that we need to address issues pronto. Next up in the PL is Villa.

I think if Slots doesn’t make top4 he might be sacked. The recent Klopp interview has brought an extra bit of pressure on his job as thats how fans have seen his interview, Klopps an option. Given Klopps PR trained it was a curious answer, not ruling out a return to Anfield. The pr trained answer would have been, rule it out, and take it when it comes, so not ruling it out at this minute was odd. So who knows what's going on behind the scenes, VVD cunted Kerkez out recently another example of poor teamwork.

You mentioned my statistics & summer transfer takes. I gave you my thoughts based on stats.

Isak was adored at Newcastle, and the main man, and his goals & assists per minute there were essentially the same as Darwins at LFC and only really bettered Darwin by last seasons data.
Everyone else wanted Darwin out, and mostly Isak in, a few of us wanted Alvarez, for me Alvarez had the right profile over Isak. And Alvarez could work with Salah.

I've also had to address an opinion about Salah and Gakpo last season several times. I pointed out that Gakpo outscored Salah from open play all comps. That Salah once penalties were excluded had a different look to his stats. Not to diminish a good penalty taker, but you need to look at open play goal contributions and match winning goals (Gakpo didnt do great on that metric).

Diaz had more open play winners than Salah. Jota had as many open play winners as I recall. Whislt media/fanfare went to balloon door, I showed how he was essentially as good as the season before but played less so had less goals & assists in total. That our other forwards did the running for him and put in the hard work. Something I appreciate. How the CF role was not a high Xg role, and Salah had close to the combined Xg of Diaz, Gakpo, Jota & Darwin. Gave these 4 players higher rankings than most

    ...............Justme..CC...RedOc..BOF
    Salah............ 9.5 __ 9 ___ 9 ___ 9 ___ 9.13 __ 0.5
    Gakpo.......... 7.5 __ 9 ___ 8 ___ 8 ___ 8.13 ___ 1.5
    Núñez........... 4 ___ 7 ___ 3 ___ 3 ___ 4 25 ____ 4
    Diaz............. 7.5 __ 8 ___ 8 ___ 8 ___ 7.88 ___ 0.5
    Jota............... 5 ___ 7 ___ 6 ___ 6 ___ 6.00 ___ 2

    Your later scores Kev
    Salah 9
    Gakpo 8
    Nunez 3
    Diaz 8
    Jota 4

Now I'm not giving up on Mo just yet. But I do like to look at things properly.

I look at this squad and I think Slot has a stronger set of players this year than last. More 1st teamers he'll use, and we have the same options as last year at 6 & CB, Leoni in for Quansah the only change in those positions.

Now recently I asked you how you calculated Gakpo spent most of last seasons PL campaign on the bench when he started most games and played more than 50% of the minutes whilst missing 3 games with a knock. No answer.

I have Steveo, going on about my stats, who having brought up goals and assist, suddenly got mad that the stat wasnt in his favour, so he goes for Win ratios. Then runs from win ratios when Salah is included and refuses to concede goals and assists is much better than win ratio for an individuals quality.
Steveo was happy to use win ratio as the most important stat, so Diaz is better than Gakpo. But not happy to say Diaz was better than Salah based on win ratios likewise.
I've shown how goals & assists are the better metric and even holding up over time. Rush, Suarez & Salah are better than Gakpo & Diaz based on goals & assists per minute.
Under win Ratio Diaz is better than Salah, Gakpo, Rush & Suarez.

I have CD who seemingly couldnt actually use figures to make his case, and in the end I explained via figures and words how he had mis-read the paragraph, even providing a Gini score for the low measure of inequality within the league.

So, yeah, I'll stand by my opinions on stats anytime. As I am quite familiar with them and will often point to limitations and issues with them. I don't use them for an end, I don't refuse using the same methodology with players/clubs that dont suit an argument.

For a guy with his media/pr training it was a very odd answer. Now I haven't watched/read the interview myself so putting some good faith in what Miller and maybe a few others said about it.

What people have underestimated is the fight they brought (one of the reasons jota got iniured so much). They were also very unpredictable.
We needed someone stronger in the midfield to make up for this.

The biggest issue is there's nothing to suggest this malaise will end.
It's a lazy team, they don't work hard enough. Every single game this season apart from maybe Burnley and Arsenal we've simply been outfought and dominated by the opposition. It was only the first half hour that got us over the line against everton.
You can see how much they're not doing when they don't have the ball. Teams are passing it around us with ease, how many times this season have we simply not been able to get out of our own half in the closing minutes of the game.
They've become a soft touch team. I agree with Kev when he says Slot just needs put a fucking sock in it too.
