It's a lazy team, they don't work hard enough. Every single game this season apart from maybe Burnley and Arsenal we've simply been outfought and dominated by the opposition. It was only the first half hour that got us over the line against everton.
You can see how much they're not doing when they don't have the ball. Teams are passing it around us with ease, how many times this season have we simply not been able to get out of our own half in the closing minutes of the game.
They've become a soft touch team. I agree with Kev when he says Slot just needs put a fucking sock in it too.
I'm not too arsed about what Slot says, but in another thread I posted a short from his presser last night to counter the alleged what he said take. His post match presser didn't have any major issues for me.

The Klopp interview, VVD cunting Kerkez so visibly, and Salah delisting LFC from his socials are more concerning to me than Slots pressers.
These 3 figures acting as they've done in a short space of time, is worrisome. The lack of sharpness in the earlier part of the season still had fight, but more recently the fight doesn't look to be there and that has alarm bells are ringing. Seems to be a lot of spat dummies within the team, and with Klopps interview over this short time frame its time to consider a mutiny from within, as mad as that sounds.

For me there's a lot of hysteria going around at the minute.

We've lost Trent who seemingly would fix defensive issues, and Salah is nowt without Trent. On the basis Trent has provided the most assists to Salah. Yet Nunez at the club for less time has provided the 2nd most assists to Salah, and was 2nd to Salah for goals/assists per minute. He needed to go even after Jotas passing...

Similarly we've lost Diaz to Bayern, who was such a team player that he wasnt arsed turning up for Jotas funeral. Instead opting to stay on holidays and out having fun. Apparently thats the guy we need at LFC and maybe the players are devastated. Jotas death was difficult and who knows what the fuck has gone on behind the scenes. Did Arne ball out Diaz, or not, etc etc.

2 lads who wanted away are apparently the glue that held everything together. Tough start to the season and given results the knifes are out, its a real knife fight out here and all knives are pointed at Slot right now...

We don't know how the lads are dealing with Diogo's passing, so I don't think it's fair or right to point out these kind of things. I didn't go to my grandmother's funeral (who I loved dearly). We all have our own ways of dealing with things.

But on the point of replacing Nunez and Jota. Had we been offered Ekitike and Isak as a replacement for the two of them we would have taken it instantly.

There's a lot easy points scoring going on whilst were in the midst of a crisis. but if you look at it player for player with the exception of Diaz being replaced we've replaced like for like on players that most of us thought would be big improvements or at worse of equal ability than those that left.

    On paper...

Ekitike is an improvement on Jota, who's form had declined sharply last season
Isak is an improvement on Nunez. This should be an absolute upgrade.
Wirtz is an improvement on Elliott.
Frimpong is more dynamic fullback than Trent, with good crossing but no where near as good a passer.
Kerkez is an improvement on Tsimikas. He was the best LB in the country last season
Leoni is young replcement for another young defender
Marma is an international keeper as back up just like Kelleher.

Diaz is the big miss, who hasn't properly been replaced but it isn't THE reason we are where we are.

Doesn't matter if they don't fit into the team and work with other players, Guess nunez helped the attack line by being a brute diaz helped the width and to spread it......

Wirtz for Elliot Elliot didn't work.... neither is Wirtz.... we don't play with a AMC it's hard to do in this league, I don't know why we changed the midfield in the first place, it worked well just needed a no6

Also some players just can't make it at big clubs.... hopefully that's not kerkez......

and can't say about frimpong he's either not been given a run, or injured.

To play with a AMC we need 2 Solid DM's that's not jones for starters... we need to be solid at the back, just not working Wirtz might aswell be dropped for Endo and try and be more solid...

Cant believe we spent the money we did and got it so wrong, someone fucked up bad.
Maybe it is wrong to blame slot,it was mentioned he wouldnt be in control of transfers and his job was coach and he had these big signings thrown at him and told there you go and know he had to try to fit in Ł100m players that he has to fit in and make work.

Good post. Yes. Its far too easy to be all-knowing in hindsight. We all knew the squad needed an overhaul. Lots of players we were happy to see nunez elliot etc move on thinking that we would get upgrades.

It's revisionist to say we were happy with what we had. Nobody was.

Looking back at Klopp’s team, there were always players we were divided over and we would change. For example lots of disagreement over Henderson. Also wijnaldum. Trent. Etc etc

But with hindsight everything was perfect then and it's all bad now. Reality is somewhere between the two.

The trouble is we're not getting much out of what we have. And so it looks like they're the wrong players. Maybe it's more that slot can't get the best from them.

No Allison, Trent, Robbo, Grav, MaC, Diaz and even Jota and Nunez from last season starters to the starting line up on Saturday.
Far too many changes at one time by the looks of it.
Selling, buying ,injuries and loss of form has affected us big time.
Lose to Villa on Saturday night and he might start to lose Anfield , crowds now are a fickle bunch.

Correct on all points. It’s not dreadful recruitment… These are quality players - it might not be perfect recruitment but who gets 5 out of 5 bang on…??

We haven’t replaced Diaz - Wirtz signing seems strange but I wasn’t complaining - but beyond that something else is afoot

Not getting in at least two quality ready to go CBs and a top quality DM when we've needed those positions addressed for years is dreadful recruitment, or if we're being more honest, a complete failure when it comes to addressing those problem areas.
