For me the window started well, kerkez(LB)frimpong(RB)wirtz(AM)eritikie(ATTAC K).
although we were sniffing round isak im not sure we really thought it was possible to get isak and ekitikie was available at a price to good to ignore, then imo we found that isak wasnt dead in the water and i also feel that we thought guehi was a done deal, just needing palace to get in a replacement.
Even diaz leaving didnt stop the push for isak and we took our eye off guehi.

If we really thought we could get isak in i think we would have held off from ekitikie and with diaz leaving would/should have moved for a wide attacker and maybe a DM.

Yet Nunez at the club for less time has provided the 2nd most assists to Salah, and was 2nd to Salah for goals/assists per minute. He needed to go even after Jotas passing...

Similarly we've lost Diaz to Bayern, who was such a team player that he wasnt arsed turning up for Jotas funeral. Instead opting to stay on holidays and out having fun. Apparently thats the guy we need at LFC and maybe the players are devastated. Jotas death was difficult and who knows what the fuck has gone on behind the scenes. Did Arne ball out Diaz, or not, etc etc.

2 lads who wanted away are apparently the glue that held everything together. Tough start to the season and given results the knifes are out, its a real knife fight out here and all knives are pointed at Slot right now...

But on the point of replacing Nunez and Jota. Had we been offered Ekitike and Isak as a replacement for the two of them we would have taken it instantly.

There's a lot easy points scoring going on whilst were in the midst of a crisis. but if you look at it player for player with the exception of Diaz being replaced we've replaced like for like on players that most of us thought would be big improvements or at worse of equal ability than those that left.

    On paper...

Ekitike is an improvement on Jota, who's form had declined sharply last season
Isak is an improvement on Nunez. This should be an absolute upgrade.
Wirtz is an improvement on Elliott.
Frimpong is more dynamic fullback than Trent, with good crossing but no where near as good a passer.
Kerkez is an improvement on Tsimikas. He was the best LB in the country last season
Leoni is young replcement for another young defender
Marma is an international keeper as back up just like Kelleher.

Diaz is the big miss, who hasn't properly been replaced but it isn't THE reason we are where we are.
Largely agree with that, I've highlighted what I said about Jotas passing and who knows what's gone on behind the scenes. You and Diaz, I imagine are different in that you dont have the means, an agent, and a consequence from your posting photos etc. Didnt look good going out partying whislt others were attending the funeral. I'd have moved on Jota over Nunez, still think both are largely undervalued by many with player ratings provided from the forum for last season. And I have had concerns about Isaks transfer last summer.

We lost jota so Ekitike. We then nunez go so isak. It was 2 out and 2 in. I would have preferred the isak money went on a cb and a dm.

I've said it before, this is a long term plan. Short term pain this year for long term gain. All those signings are for the long term, if they work out of coursem

Jota could play wide, isak and eritikie both CF.
isak is premership proven and will be a hit which will push eritikie to the bench, cant see him staying more that 2 seasons.

Jota very rarely if ever played wide for us.

If we sell Ekitike, we still need a cf. You can't have 1 cf. If we stick with the 433 we still at least 2 cfs. Ideally you have someone that can play across the front line. Ekitike has the movement to play off the left or right.
Also, isak injury record wasn't brilliant at Newcastle so we will need someone else. Ekitike will do just fine here.

As of now, it's isak that should be worried.

    According to transfermrkt,
Jota played 91 as cf and 62 left wing, cant see eritikie doing that and we need a player who can.
