Best part of the night was Nallo getting sent off. Don't think I've laughed so hard for ages.

Have to feel sorry for the lad.

100% klopp did. Klopp also had runs where we lost 4 or 5 out of 6 games. Maybe worse? I think with klopp people expected a turn around. Right now it's hard to see where its coming from with Slot.

I'm not slot out, by the way but after last night supporters are angry, and rightly so, but a win against villa and this is forgotten. A loss to villa and this will be kept fresh in the memory of those wanting him gone.

Hopefully Anfield can be a factor in the upcoming cluster of matches.

Think it's Villa, Real Madrid, Man City, Nottingham Forest and PSV with only the Man City match being an away game.

I think it might get worse before it gets better, but if we were to win (for talk's sake) the Forest and PSV games and then carry a little momentum towards the Christmas period then we might not be in as bad a spot as some are predicting.

Unfortunatly, most were expecting us to win the league, at least putting in a good defence of the title. That looks done for at this stage. 4 league losses already. Top 4 is still well within reach but I think The expectations at the beginning were much higher. We have an international break after the city game. If we haven't won a game at that point. Slot will be in trouble.

I think we have to beat Villa, Forest and PSV and not get embarrassed by Madrid and City as an absolute minimum. Otherwise we/he will be in trouble.

Expectations were undoubtedly through the roof, but that is gone now.

Slot's here, we've sourced players that are for the future (as well as "the now") and we have to prepare for the era that is coming as time won't be standing still for Alisson, Van Dijk, Robertson or Salah - much as we will all mourn the departure away from a period of joyous time at the club.

Transition into the new is coming - indeed, it's already here in some respects. I think there will be more rough to come before we get the smooth.

The good thing about Footie is how quickly things can change. Just as our recent capitulation has been awful, it doesn't take a lot to suddenly pluck 3 wins on the spin from somewhere as the season progresses.

I think the re-assessed goals for the season are as follows -

    1. Ensure we qualify for next season's Champion's League
    2. Reach the knockout stages of this season's Champion's League
    3. Find a way to complete the above objectives without relying as heavily upon Mo's goal-scoring exploits
    4. Find a functioning system that gets the best use out of as many of Kerkez, Frimpong, Wirtz Ekitike and Isak as possible whilst completing objectives 1-3.

Accomplish the above and we'll have had a good season that can set up a platform for the next lot of years. Would it be disappointing relative to what we thought we were getting when the season started? Undeniably it would - but it's where we are right now, so we need to re-align with the transition that is going to occur.

Sarr is a very good player, I believe at one point we may have been interested in him a few seasons back. Its taken him a bit of time to mature..some players do though.
