    There's no narrative Steveo.

Isak had one half chance on Saturday and Ekitike didn't touch the ball when he came on. Ekitike didn't get a sniff against City.

Ekitike started the season in excellent fashion but his numbers have fallen off.

And as I say, it's not really his fault, as it isn't really Isak's.

The system is absolutely hamstringing the team. There is so little movement in the side, zero one-twos, zero through balls. The midfield is virtually non-existant.

The team is 70% the side that's been in the last two title challenges. Having 7 or 8 players 'off form', suggests that there is something fundementally wrong.

Unfortunately it looks like it's all steming from the manager...

Yes it is the manager but also change in personal...

Diaz made more happen just by spreading the defense and running on the counter, Trent created more with his passing/crossing..... Kerkez isn't providing enough same whoever plays on the right... salah is just trying to carry but it's not working anymore, gakpo is to direct and provides very little..... where does it leave us? Even nunez created more than this shite currently because he could cause chaos

We pass it around, and pass some more.... 74% possesion what is it good for? Nothing because we're slower than a over 50's team going forward

Still no no6 then VVD & Konate been dodgy.... and here we are with only Gomez as backup.

Combined factors, manager and the transfers and staff behind the scenes, I never want whoever is involved in tranfers to be here next summer..... they should be arrested.... for not addresing the positions we actually needed- any other job they'd get the sack.

how can they get it so wrong? the doors that way >>>>>>>>

Possibly but seems harsh to put it all on him. I can’t believe he chose to drop Ekitike over an unfit Isak without pressure applied. i cannot believe he was happy with the Diaz sale.. I don' believe he had much of a hand in Wirtz. Just my hunch..

IF he did and those were all on him... then he wasn't watching last season or the season prior - and we really did just ride the crest of a wave generated by Klopp for 2/3rds of last season and it's over.

It would leave us in the unenviable position where it's hard to defend against the claims -from some in Holland -who stated that we got the lesser of Ten Hag when Arne was announced as a successor.

Buy a central defender (2 needed if somehow we get a fee for konate in this window) and a defensive midfielder bare minimum. Its unfortunate as Leoni would have been eased in but we can't afford to wait on him. In as soon as window opens and hopefully not cup tied for CL if that's still a rule.

We'll obviously never know these sorts of ins-outs of the inner workings of the club but i'm sure like you, he wont have been happy with the sale of Diaz but he'd have certainly been part of the conversation of the incommings.

Even if he is just the 'coach', he'd have his input or at least been asked about how he planned to set up the team this season.

He hasn't turned up at pre-season, seen Isak, Wirtz, Ekitke and thought, 'mmm, where have these lads come from? How do I fit all of these players in the team?"

Even if he hasn't had any say in who or what type of player that's been brought in he should be getting far more out of them.

I'm sick of seeing this weeking week out...

    Konate - VVD

    Szobo - Salah - Wirtz - Isak - Grav - Mac - Gakpo - Kerkez

But there is a huge difference between turning up at pre season and seeing the players you have been granted and turning up pre season and not getting anything you specified to be what was needed.

So until we know WHO is responsible we cannot really judge, Oh and I suggest that IF Austen Powers and his sidekick Hughes weren’t the key players in all of the above - what the fuck have they been doing for a year and a half…? Scratching their arses?

They certainly looked pleased with themselves in May…

When Ekitike has started we've won 75% of our games. When he hasn't started we've won 0% of our games.

For me sort the defence out and the rest will sort itself out in time. We need clean sheets. How we've got such a threadbare back 4 is negligent.
If this negligence is on Slot then that is a worry.
As for last year I'm not sure we win the league if Klopp was still here.
Anyway, for me the season is done. I can't watch the Arsenal do what we did last season. Added to that nothing this season will come close to the joy of that night at Hampden.
