A title defence with 1.5 reliable CB's. I count Joel and Joe as a halpf... Matip injury record was well documented - he was many seasons a 1 game in 3 player. then you had Gomez.. beyond Injury prone..
And Klopp ALWAYS says he didn't "need" to spend. He isn't saying I don't want to spend. he was saying that beyond spending a manager had to work with what he has. This is what he did. He defended the club from the very real scrutiny that it was massively outperforming its outlay. That IMO is ultimately what took it's tool on Jurgen.
