Agree on both points. There's clearly more going on behind the scenes than just Mo being in bad form on the pitch. If it was just his form then everyone inside and outside the club would be willing to give him time. Just seems like he and Slot are at odds with each other. If that's the case it's time for Mo to move on.

Whatever the truth is, it's not a fantastic look if he has turned down the 416 other opportunities for a word when the conversation is Salah-centric every time. That level of, for want of a better phrase, "self importance" is undeniably a part of the chemistry that has made him such a great player for so long, but whatever cause he has or feels he has, his picking of his moments probably doesn't do him a lot of favours.

A shame that this has become so messy after his wonderful contributions to the club. I am all for players losing their legs on someone else's pitch, but you don't want to see things pan out anything like this!

My issue here is it’s clear what Slot wants to change to, and that way of playing was dead in the Premier League after 19-20 Guardiola himself gave it up

It’s not a case of give it time, it won’t ever be successful, every other team that plays it now players a very strong pressing and counter pressing game, has very pacey actual wingers and plays the ball direct whenever it’s on including from the keeper
