Also have to consider if slot will stick with last nights 4 4 2.
Still think we need him and another that can do that in the long run, but the extra player can wait till the summer, not enough depth and options atm imo, and Chiesa is pointless... we're very short on the wings.

Please don't tell me gakpo is all i'm going to be seeing on the left this season and next...... please please, 2 forward players on the flanks eventually

Rumours yes.. but IF that happens...and despite probably not landing all the positions we needed to - we will have still have landed a lot of very decent players since last summer.

Add those 2 and SURELY we get a decent tune out..for the second half of the season ?
I think that would be a fantastic January window if that were to happen.

That would solve a good bit of the defensive issues as Konate has looked dodgy all season which has resulted in teams letting him have the ball. How many times have we seen a game where the ball keeps getting played back and it ends up with Konate yet again..? It would allow us to rest Konate or VVD which would help to elongate VVD's time with us hopefully and maybe restore Konate back closer to the levels he was at in previous seasons.

Re the Semenyo one - that would be such a coup. We desperately need movement. From what I've seen of him he would provide that. Since Mo has dropped off even in the past couple of seasons we've lost that marauding movement we once had. I think with someone like Semenyo, it would mean defenders would have a lot to worry about which would create space for Ekitike, Isak and Wirtz.

won't hold my breath but....let's hope...

Slot is our coach. Funny how Edwards & Hughes arrived after Klopp quit & we end up with a coach struggling to fit players into a system that doesn't work. Something is rotten way above Slot & Klopo was not going to take it. Klopp would never come out & say why he really left he has too much respect for the club & the fans that make it special. I will mention Mo again because he has shown total disrespect to the club that made him but he can leave as a legend or leave as a Michael Owen or many others that ruined their legacy. Should he get a fairwell against Brighton? He should get a round of applause & goodbye as he sits in the terraces because he should never choose when he plays

Indeed - if we do decide to persist with that system as the template, our width will be coming from full-backs, somewhat negating the need for traditional wide players.

Though you absolutely always want to have the option and multiple player profiles for dealing with different types of opposition side.

Slot refuses to make changes while moaning his squad is too small. He tells every team that we struggle against a low block. Hes a coach but never a manager because his man management skills are lacking. He admits he has never spoke to Harvey elliot. He refuses to play chiesa when the guy could save his job. Wirtz signed because he had a system to suit him. His set piece coaches are a disaster. Dutch managers dont work in prem. I hope I am wrong but far too many doubts Klopp was a legend but he lost 4 or 5 home games in a row & , an Allison goal scraped us into the champs league. I doubt it but I hope Slot turns it around. My biggest dread is we become the next man utd hoping the next managr will change it. Stability is our only hope

Every Manager has things that we wish they'd change and thankfully many do. Even those we adore, like Benitez or Klopp. When Klopp first arrived here I said that one thing that would annoy fans (and it did) was how late he would make subs - gradually over time we saw him utilise the bench much more cleverly, with the new 5-sub thing admittedly helping.

With Slot, the most frustrating one of these things in your list for me is the first.

If Gravenberch were to break down for example, my first thought would be "well, you had Endo this entire time" - I appreciate Endo lacks in certain areas, but he isn't some dog turd player.

There are matches here and there, or sets of 25 minutes here and there, or first halves here and there, where it would be absolutely appropriate to use Endo and give one of Mac Allister, Gravenberch or a centre-back (Konaté in terms of injury record) a reprieve, but Endo isn't utilised.

Chiesa being the most obvious one - just use him! Give him from the 65th-70th minute a bit more often, the odd start - it isn't just the player you use that benefits, it's the lad getting to come off early before injury risk increases.

I want Slot to turn it around and if we can avoid defeat today then we go 5 unbeaten, which is a good starting point - especially if we win.

Hopefuly slot sees that the 3 man midfield works best and can go with 1 2 or 2 1 or 3 upfront if he reverts to 4 2 3 1 then he's gone.

On Sid’s post… Slight Caveat on Endo - who for me is not nearly at the level - but agree with all points… All of them
