Mac Allister has often been slow, ponderous on the ball, and unaware of what's going on around him. Those failings were previously offset somewhat by what he was positively contributing to the team. This season however he has like you say often been completely anonymous meaning that he has been more of a liability than an asset. He's part of the reason as to why our midfield is so open and easily bypassed.

When does it go down our right or through the middle? When we lose it with 5 players stood in between the defenders in their box blocking our own lines and crowding ourselves out and lose it trying to play another unnecessary 5 yard ball and there aren’t enough players picking up

That’s when and how it happens almost every time we have 2 players in particular who lose it in that position and neither of them are Macca
