When did you join the forum and why?

2003.

Looked around for LFC forums and landed here.

It was a really good crowd back in the day.
I remember pretty much everyone who’s been mentioned.
There was Nigel (N4C) the stats man.

I also remember Ducatiboy and Mo posting a vid of the two of them performing a Dirk Kuyt song, absolute classic.

I’ve been posting less of late as it has been a lot less enjoyable.
I don’t mind a debate, I enjoy a good reasoned argument of differing opinions but it’s gone beyond that.

Three people on here just cannot stand someone having a different opinion. They don’t argue their point they just wade in with insults, trying to belittle whoever thinks differently to them, then taking great delight in trolling the other person for weeks if they think they have been proven right.

Just get over yourselves ffs you are just another average Jo on a forum expressing an opinion.
And you find they are usually the “Uber Fan” type who think never EVER criticising a current player, the manager or the owners makes you a better fan.

Jeez it makes me nauseous.

The worst of the lot just goes round every thread just laying into anyone and everyone who does follow the Uber way. What an absolute wanker.

Looked on here the other day and the last post on the top 10 Threads were all him talking absolute bollocks. I just left, I have no interest in reading anything it has to say. No substance to anything just constant shilling.

Really is like a virus has infiltrated the Forum.

Good recollection there for an aul fella lol, well only a few yrs older than me actually. REG, Nev and i'd forgotten about Mo. We all had to re-register or change our usernames on the forum at 1 stage years ago. And although it's a free for all forum, imo there's a handful of posters with overkill of opinions and a majority who say little. Sometimes less is more and more credible wink wink

Either way the Forum needs genuine folks like you who can rise above the crap and offer their insight and their experience.

I joined I think 2008. I had stopped going to games and needed a bit of community. It was really different back then. Well thought out posts compared to the pages of puerile abuse it is nowadays. There was Rafa el Gaffer whose photo was Guillaume Balague. There was a guy called Karl who called himself The Prince, who was very old school and a bit condescending, but did write very good posts.
At a certain point in the noughties everyone's post count went back to zero for some reason, so the older posters on here have actually got much more posts than it seems.

I’ve been on here some 15- 18 years I think , I’ve never worked out actually how to find out . It’s weird this thread has come about because I said to my missus the other day , I have been conversing with these guys on this forum for years and I have no idea how old they are , where they live ,
A mate from work was on it years ago and I joined , I remember steel wool , Ducati boy, I wondered where they all went and whether anybody knew each other off the forum
Although I’ve been posting in here for many years I don’t think I post enough for people to remember how long I’ve been on here .
I remember ( can’t remember who it was ) came on and said they were really unwell and it wasn’t looking good ) and then I didn’t hear any more .
I think there’s a lot more arguments these days than I remember from years ago , probably a byproduct of how social media has made people.
I also have always meant to ask is this the main Liverpool forum or is there others , I’ve never even thought to look

And I agree, the Forum is far more antagonistic than it was a decade ago.
This is pretty much the only social media site I spend time on, as social media is generally a cesspool, this was always a much more civilised place to post your thoughts

Thanks miller mate , I’ve never even been on my profile 🤯, I don’t do social media either and although on here, I’m not really a forum kind of guy . But I do like listening to the opinions of op other fans without all the shit of social media and like reading through other takes . And to be fair some of the effort some of the posters put into the stats on their posts , I doth my cap
