    FSG out

Lack of forward planning and investment, and now look where we are, it's a joke

Time to go, you can't take us any further, no chance of keeping up with Arsenal,City, Chelsea in future, even utd will overtake us in the near future.

Hate to admit it, but time to go ,there's various reasons why, club is run like shit ..... never have any depth.... i'm fuckng sick of it.

some of yous...... will dream on and think we compete under them......

in the real world we're winning fuck all anytime soon....... doesn't matter if we sack slot and someone else takes over.... so much work to be done, slot will be the fall guy.

Need to replace our best players.. need to get rid of the injury crooks every season, enough is enough.... need to build a swuad with decent options to roate/challenge/bench

    Good luck........ squads a joke
But it's a fucking joke lads, wake up good luck to whoever takes over in future you'll need it. ( manager) but some believe however entilted to there opinion..... whatever..... get rid of Slot..... magic fix........alot more to slot..... the problem comes from the top, they need to leave.

In the "FSG out #2" thread you made in.....I want to say August or September of 2023 (???) I distinctly remember one of your opening lines being "how long until protests?" and I think I answered by commenting on the fact that none had yet been organised, then expanded on that somewhat, including my respecting people's right to do so, even though that's not the page I personally am on with the owners.

Two and a half years on, still no protests - and I think they are probably less likely to come now than they were then. One of the biggest instigating points in the past was about spending and the current context regarding spending falls after we spent over Ł400m in one window (and yes I grant that it was "only" a Ł227m or so net spend which is a less eye-popping figure) so the "cheapskate" slant is likely a harder one to whip the populace up on. Right now people's main frustrations seem to lie with Slot, Edwards and Hughes - and a change or two made there accompanied with a turnaround in form may well dampen down the heat - though I could be wrong.

Still, in a thread I'll likely largely keep my nose out of as I haven't the interest in circular discussions and the same tired points made from both "sides" (a shame as we all want what's best for Liverpool) I'll say now as I believe I did then - whilst I might disagree, I'd absolutely 100% respect anyone's right to protest and would wish anyone organising anything the very best of luck with it, as I've been involved in a few marches myself (knife crime probably the one I felt most passionately on having lost friends to it) so if someone gets something started and goes about it peacefully and with their points laid out and things done the "right" way I say crack on, especially if it's something you feel passionately about.

I wouldn't personally join in (as I am not in the "FSG out" camp at present) but if people decide to go for it, it's absolutely 100% your right to do so, so "fair f**ks" and all that if anyone gets the ball rolling on something.

So we win the league last season and twice out of the last 5. Spend over 400m in the summer. And suddenly FSG need to go?

There's only one team that has been consistently better than us over the last decade and that's City with their financial doping. But yeah let's bin the owners. I'm sure the next ones will be better. Maybe the Glazers are looking for a new challenge.

They have been ok owners, dont think they are at glazer level yet. Stadium is mint revenues are up, we are generally competitive for the last 10 years. Remember hicks and gilette and the door step they bought us to and nearly killed the club? Bash them all you want but they have ran the club on an even keel.

    They've done good yes

Klopp carried them a lot, look at the average spend... over the years compared to clubs around us.. can't you guys see this is why it's effecting us now?

Look how bad that squad depth is just look, yes we spent money finally in the summer, how long has that took? even then we had to sell a lot of players- Look at the forward planning for the old boys leaving soon there is none..... look at only having gakpo at LW.... the list goes on and on, you think that's well run?

You can quote me on this if i'm wrong, but apart from maybe a domestic smaller cup, we're not winning anything again with these owners unless we have another miracle manager...

and unless they start spending on a consistent basis.... we have no chance competing with Arsenal, City...... and in the near future 2-3 years, Chelsea, Utd, Newcastle.

Then you have some decisions behind the scenes, transfer staff.... coaches..... youth....... on the most part it's shocking we're not run that well, we are in some ways, not in others.

they've took us far as they can, mark my words, with these owners we're always going to be one step behind............

They've got lucky we got some gems like Coutinho - salah - mane. etc etc..... and we had klopp..... but that luck can't and hasn't gone on forever.

that's just my opinion, we're not getting anywhere unless summer become a more common thing.

if FSG stay it's a slippery slope and we'll be fighting for champions league football every season, this season is a result of sheer neglect, and being 2 steps backwards, not forwards

Look deep into.... look at the bigger picture.... try and open your eyes.... and then you will realise FSG ain't all that, and they've been lucky imo, and I can understand why some people might think they're gods gift- don't get me wrong they're not all bad, and done some great stuff.... but going forward--- if they are tight like they have been apart from the outlay in the summer.... we're never getting anywhere.

I do feel they've took us far as they can, and thank them for what they've done but going forward, we need more, we need a bigger squad, gakpo only senior LW I MEAN FOR FUCK SAKES..... what the fuck do u expect us to do win the league again yea?? times are changing, squad depth is so important.. not even just about depth but at least when some players will be off soon.. we'd have players ready to step up & fight for places, you lot are not stupid... you know things need to change, if that's with FSG or not..... we'll see we need a actual squad times are changing...... this depth is a joke

I really hope i'm wrong and they spend money, because money will be needed to be spent big time next few years..... we actually build a squad and have competition for places.... and we win stuff, just can't see it under this lot

    We're in trouble.

Here's an idea. List our best 20 players from the squad and talk through them as if you were the coach at the start of the season.

See what massive problems you would have identified and why we'd be in trouble. It's a bit difficult to do with hindsight but give it a try.

20? we've only got about 14 players that actually start / get game time and are actually good enough/reliable

Some of the problems in certain areas of the pitch are obvious but they've repeated so many times I can't be bothered to post what has been posted 10000 times..... then add on to that, losing VVD & Salah soon, and looking likely at the moment Konate... look how the team looks

But it's ok at least we've got world class gakpo and Chiesa & reliable gomez and the list goes on and on.

It's pure neglect and complete lack of thinking ahead and investment in previous seasons, and here we are, in this situation and it'll get worse before it gets better left it far too long... then we had too much to do in the summer & and the future..... it's not acceptable

Slot will get the blame and eventually get sacked... but the squad suddenly isn't going to be bigger, and VVD&Salah & maca and co suddenly become old selves..... and gakpo turns into a prime ronaldo...

There's no magic fix here, money the right transfers, and a few years of building a actual squad and replacing the old boys, Klopp knew what he was doing when he left, maybe a season too soon but still... he knew..

FSG have done a incredible job of sugarcoating things, fair play to them.

We only have about 14 NOW. I'm talking about what the squad looked like at the start of the season. Nobody can predict the future. Noone thought Salah was going to be shite all season back in August.

My point is that our squad is good. Not perfect, no squad ever is. But it's damned good and was plenty good enough going into the new season. Lack of form and injuries have hurt us. It happens. But we're by no means in trouble and neither do we have to spend half a billion quid every summer.

Having said that the squad is in transition. Over the next 2 or 3 years we'll see most of the Klopp team disappear completely and new players take their place. That's the way it's supposed to be.

Let's just do the exercise. The point isn't to argue about formation or positions but to have a look at the squad and identify massive weaknesses back in August that would put us in trouble. I've gone with a squad of 22, which will naturally be weaker than 20. Typically on match day we'll have 9 subs, so our best 20 players in total. But here we go with 22.

    Alisson/Mamardashvili

    Frimpong/Bradley, Konate/Gomez, VvD/Leoni, Kerkez/Robbo,

    Slobo/Macca, Grav/Endo, Jones/Nyoni

    Salah/Chiesa, Ekitike/Isak, Wirtz/Gakpo

There aren't a lot of obvious weaknesses there. As I said before, not perfect but pretty good. CB needs 1, which we tried to get with Guehi.

Things have worked out differently but that's looking back with hindsight. If you were going into the season with that squad, back in August, you'd have been pretty happy.

Now let's bold the players who are available and playing to the standard required. Injured players are underlined.

    Slobo/Macca, Grav/Endo, Jones/Nyoni

    Salah/Chiesa, Ekitike/Isak, Wirtz/Gakpo

That's our problem. I might be being kind to VvD there too.
