Rumour that Jones and Van Dijk had a bit of a row with Slot after the Bournemouth match, with Van Dijk being "cooler" during it and Jones somewhat losing the rag.

Thought to be part of the reason that it's happening - a push from Slot - will be interesting to see in time if it's utter tripe or a "no smoke without fire" job.

And then jones is 'ill' for CL game.

Frimpong shouldn't be included in that list. He is a wide player or full back. Not a midfielder. Letting Jones go on loan would be madness. Unless we were to sign 2 cm.

Those two incoming midfielders would need to be good, if not top quality. At least one of them would need to be a DM, and both would need to have a good injury record and a history of consistently putting in 7/10 or better performances.

Jones is an excellent squad member and local lad, the only reason he should be going is if he wants to leave to be a regular starter which he has never quite been here. The club should not be thinking about letting him go by choice

I think the issues are over wages.. If hes being offered pittance and Virgil is making constant mistakes and on 350 thousand a week. It would make me angry as well.. If you're on such huge wages. you can't afford any poor games. or 1 or maybe 2. but hes been terrible this season like a lot of players. This is why the club always struggles when it comes to getting players. I'ts the wages and how it will affect the other members of the squad.. When it came to Guehi, they simply weren't going to give him 300 thousand a week. the rest of the players who contracts are up for renewal will want a huge rise in their contracts..
I can understand why we didn't get Guehi in that instance. we do need cover. but it won't happen until the summer now.
