Wharton in our side would be quality. Baleba looked good last season but seems to have fell out of favour this one.

Our defence gets sod all protection from our midfield. That's not great given that our defence has been a mess this season. We need a top class DM but I'm not sure we'll get one namely because we've needed one for ages but still haven't signed one, and also because I'm not sure Slot wants one given that despite our issues he has continued to play Gravenberch further up the pitch instead of playing him in the deeper position he occupied last season.

Grav still plays deep a lot but when he drives it as he should the other one ir two or full back have to pick up

It started with over passing with exclusively short passing and loading the box with too many players

The 4231 really hasn’t been working when we’ve been successful this season it’s largely been when we’ve ended up with 3 up top even if we claimed to be playing 4231

Yesterday after flailing miserably for 30 minutes with 4231 overpassing we ended up 3313 for a lot of important passages for the rest of the game

Just pick up it’s that simple if we were counter pressing properly as all too teams do it wouldn’t be happening

Not as simple as leaving one back either they can’t cover the whole width of the pitch and if we’re not picking up and overcommitted the transition is easy
